The success of the Jackson 5 cartoon led to another cartoon series that starred their biggest rivals The Osmonds. That one began in 1972 and only lasted for 17 episodes but I still liked it better because of the songs. Unlike the Jacksons, the Osmonds used their own voices in the series which helped its popularity. Another cartoon series that I loved back then which remained popular throughout the 1970s was the Archies: Archie, Jughead, Reggie, Betty, and Veronica. Their show began in 1968, and exploded in popularity after introducing their biggest hit "Sugar Sugar". The show also introduced new characters that had their own spinoff series that were also successful: "The Groovie Goolies" and "Sabrina: The Teenage Witch".

She says I pronounced it "Nana Flits." I guess I was three or four when it went off the air. To this day I still remember the theme song. Johnny Quest was a segment on the show, then I think a show itself for a couple years in the mid seventies? The Splits themselves were basically The Monkeys for preschoolers (although even at 3 I thought the elephant looked like John Lennon). Anyway, for as weird as the 70s were, it was a much more fun, safe, and sane era to be a kid than now. Now I have to go get that theme song out of my head... 🎶🎵 Tra la lahhh, La la la lahhhh.. Cheri Moor was the stage name for Cheryl Ladd. A few years later, the late Aaron Spelling hired her to replace the late Farrah Fawcett, who left Charlie's Angels to star in movies 🎥.

While I fondly remember enjoying all those you mentioned, primarily The Jackson 5, Scooby Doo, Fat Albert, you sadly forgot a few other must see cartoons. Wacky Racers, Bullwinkle and Rocky, and George of the Jungle (with Tom Slick along with Super Chicken and his side kick "You knew the job was dangerous when you took it" Fred.) Extra points to anyone who can name the pet mice Michael Jackson kept in his pocket (hint- one was named Ray).

I had forgotten the title of Wacky Racers. Favorite tag line from those was "..., watch out for that tree."

@@mikechappell4156 That line was from the George of the Jungle cartoon. It made it into the movie with Brendan Fraser as well.

I loved the Fat Albert Show. It did give us a better way of looking at the world, right along with programs like Sesame Street and the Electric Company.

Most of these were on every saturday at my house, except the banana splits and speedbuggy. The only time I ever remember speed buggy was whenever he teamed up with scooby doo. My absolute favorite line from any cartoon ever was an episode of the Superfriends where the Legion of Doom took over the Superfriends headquarters. They started trashing the place, Bizarro is sitting in a chair and says "I interface with computer" and smashes his face into the computer screen. Damn funny!

Fun fact: three Fat Albert episodes starred a duck wearing a scarf and a hat. He was named Cluck. For some reason, even with the long run of the show, Cluck only appeared in three episodes, and the gang continued on as if he never existed.

I used to love a cartoon. I think it was called, The Superheroes. With rope man, tornado man, cuckoo man and baby man. Crazy show... Also Bat Fink "You're arms are like a shield of steel. But your head is like a marshmallow," still remember that line... And one cartoon I bet most won't remember is Wacky and Packy. A caveman and a wooly mammoth. I loved that show. ----- I loved all the ones on this list too. But I don't know how they could be listed as forgotten cartoons.
