im 6'2 and got a mx5 (miata) for years thought i wouldnt fit until i sat in one, i have longer legs than torso so i sit fine, actually really good to learn in as they are very responsive to inputs making you sharper at reactions. only had e46's before but i much prefer the mazda

El Caminos are pretty light in the rear, and with a decent set up they can drift and straight line. I have an 84' and even with a 350 V8 and stock set up it gets squirrely but its fun. Just for your consideration.

If we say about BMW - yes, in US it's not a good option for a drift car, but in Europe - vice versa. V-type engine it's not a key for a good drifting)) we need to remember in drifting a lot of reasons means suspension! And your inline-four/six engine would be alright. It is depend of where you're drifting: street/fan ? competition ?

The 90s Miata’s (NA) did not have a 1.8L or a 6 speed. They came with a 1.6L paired with a 5 speed and only put out 90hp. What you’re talking about is the 1999 and up Miata (NB)

the NA miata has a 1.6L engine actually, as the 1.8 came starting in the NB. Also the FC RX-7 is a 1.3L turbo rotary not 1.2L btw. 👍

sn85 comes with a 4.6L v8, it isnt untill 2 generations later the 5.0 comes back (1 and a half kinda)

The SN95 GTs from 94-95 have a 5.0L pushrod v8 before they swapped to the 4.6L v8 in 96-04. Didnt have the DOHC 5.0L v8 till 2012.

You are not going to find a running good health e gine s13 for under 5k no where dude. Maybe under 10k even that might be rare. At the point id say just spend the 6-9k to get a 350 and call it a day but to each their own i guess. As well as the FC you are totally misleading people hear. While yes you can find NA for under 5k or right around 5k mark. If you are worried about the egine issues this is not the drift car for anyone. Ontop if that LS swapping or k swapping it. Thats no longer a 5k car now your putting intense amount of work and easily 10k for the swaps. 💀

find a big wide open parking lot in the middle of the night and go practice drifting, maybe take a few small traffic cones to make a figure 8 and just practice basic maneuvers over and over, or try to drive around town or outside of town looking for good roads or areas to practice that are away from lots of ppl
