My favorite starting perk was the Rapid Targeting as I thought it was more useful on variety of maps as they can shoot up hill better. On my latest campaign, I had a couple of Sharpshooters with high mobility(16) and found them extremely useful on pretty much every mission and map. So my rule of thumb now is to have my low mobility sharpshooters as DfA and high ones as Snap Shot. A couple things on Precision Shot. There is no aim penalty with it. How I find it useful, is to get as close to the 100% crit chance as possible. Say your standard shot does 8-12 damage and 65% on a flank chance to crit for 6. With precision shot, that will do 8-12 with a 95% chance to crit for 8. Anything with 16 or less HP is almost a guaranteed kill whereas without it, you have to roll a 10 or better and get the 65% crit in order to get the kill outright. Because it is a percentage increase, it scales very well as you go through the game.

Love the videos. I've really been enjoying LW2, and I look forward to your videos everyday. Question, were you planning on doing a breakdown of the officer training? You offer such a strong perspective on the classes that often gets me to look at them in another light, and I'd love to hear your breakdown of the officer tree.

Hi Richard, thanks for the positive feedback, much appreciated. I do not yet have created a guide for the officer tree breakdown, but I can certainly change that and add another small guide at the end, no problem.

@@SykenPlays Awesome! It got me thinking about it when I saw the SPARK class breakdown, which was really cool and came out of nowhere on your part. I didn't even think about that class and I actually restarted my campaign to incorporate them (amongst other things).

Serial is basically in the zone. It's no brainer in XCOM Long War 1, every sniper gets this skill. What is different in Long War 2 that you think it's not obvious choise?

Honestly, I used it on a few builds and it was really never needed. There is so much clean-up potential in the other classes, so that most of the time in the end-game you need to find solutions for larger enemies (like a well armored Sectopod). With a 100% crit build and double-shots, snipers can get them down very fast, which I found more helpful than cleanup (which other classes could do as well

@@SykenPlays I guess it's a bit different then Long War 1. In my experience there is often a lot of drones and seekers and often factor that ends in the zone chain is that sniper runs out of ammo. Sometimes also if has lock'n load with snapshot but in this case not as often. Typical scenario is to throw grenade to clear cover and soften enemies or launch a rocket against flying targets, clear obvious targets with low health. Later other squad members soften tougher targets and after that sniper clears them too, provided that still has enough ammo. It's not always such optimistic scenario, sometimes there is low roll for one of the first shots but statistically usually sniper saves lives. For sure more often it is more then 2 kills from sniper and it is still better then only 2 kills with double tap. To be clear, I play with random skills so probably I can boost aim and crit chance better then without this second wave option. Of course snipers with bad skills set end up as jaegers and still can contribute as efficient operatives.

In Long War 1 I prefer snapshot for snipers because often there is no line of sight (also when it really should be). How it works in Long War 2? Still LOS issues are common?

LoS remains an issue on the maps, but not nowhere as much as it was in Xcom1
