Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but I'm incredibly proud of it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling!

The best engine is the old VW 1.9 TDI 90ps. Needs oil and runs 1.000.000 km. I have a 97 Passat with this engine, over 400.000 km with no probs.

Here in the UK the majority of German engines we buy are diesels, it's notable that this video is American, only 2 diesels included. I ran an Audi A6 2.0 TDi PD for 13 years and 332,000 miles (534,000 km) on the original engine and sold it still running and sounding like new, no excessive oil consumption and fantastic fuel economy. The cam cover had only been removed once to replace just one glow plug. I now drive an A6 40TDi 2.0 diesel, just nicely run in at 90,000 miles.

The Japanese recipe for reliability , is let the Europeans introduce the 'new tech' and iron out the snags, and once the snags are ironed out we will introduce it! A few times they were feeling brave and creative and introduced new tech of their own they (Toyota) also ran into reliability issues! 😂😂😂

Regarding the B58, you can comfortably add 25bhp to the quoted figure. BMW typically understate the power their engines produce. The B58 is a phenomenal engine. Had my M140i 7 years and it has never let me down. Comfortably achieving over 50mpg on motorway too, plus it'll leave most other modern performance hatches for dead on a roll. Never selling.

My grandfathers Fordson Mayor tractor was also 'very reliable' ! 😂😂

Performance sacrices reliabillity. Everyone should know this before they buy. Many Japanese engines although simple standard aspirated engines can go for 1 million uninspired miles.

There is no way the M54 made the list while the M50 isnt even mentioned. M54 got alot of flaws like oil consumption, failing oil pump gearnuts, failing Disa valves that with some bad luck can destroy the engine, stupid plastic coolingsystem components etc etc. All that while the M50 doesnt have all those issues, got an cast iron block, beefier internals, less interfering electronic systems and no (when maintained and driven correctly) mayor flaws. But yeah its production span was like 4 years, than the m52 took over

I definitely don't think most of these engines won't do 1000000 miles after all look at the engines that will do 1000000 miles plus they are not high performance engines under stressed engines highly engineered engines and although there is many Mercedes-Benz BMW and Volkswagen engines that will do high mileages they are don't make hundreds of horsepower and much simpler engines such as the Mercedes-Benz OM617 a work horse of an engine and another Toyota engines no turbo the 22R/RE engine which will go on and on l know from personal experience my 1997 Toyota Hilux has a 22R engine and in most cases simplicity equals reliability were turbo reduce engine reliability and the more you modify the engine the shorter its life span
