13-year-old boy raped in the Bronx

A 13-year-old boy is recovering after being raped in the Bronx, police said. It happened at the Justice Sonia Sotomayor Houses on Bruckner Boulevard in the Soundview section. CBS News New York's Alice Gainer reports.

My mom's best friend's completely normal son was sexually assaulted by a stranger while walking home from school when he was 14-years old. The trauma was so severe, he never developed mentally pass the age of 14. He's currently in his mid-40's, is severely mentally impaired, and needs lifelong care. Had it not been for him being SA'd by some random sicko, he would likely grown into a normal functioning man. I pray this young boy gets all the help and love he needs to cope with such a traumatic event. I hope they find the monster who did this to this poor child, and lock him in GP.

I stopped a newly released inmate from gang raping my 13 year old boy all because I had a mothers hunch and went outside to check on him. It would have happened at dusk in the under ground parking garage had I not acted on my hunch. My 13 year old was lured down into the parking garage by another male who grabbed his water gun and ran off..My son chased after him down into the parking garage. Luckily I was one minute behind him. Also, teach males they are at risk for being raped by other males. It's not just women/girls.Stay inside before dark we are living in terrible times.

This is just the beginning of the traumatizing torture this poor little boy has to endure. At the hospital he'll be examined for any internal injuries and considering the boy was only 13 and the man who raped him did it forcibly and without lubrication, this boy has to have a lot of internal injuries. Imagine the pain he has to endure, all over again, getting an internal examination and a lengthy rape kit afterwards. Not to mention being grilled by police for information and then once he's finally back home, he will relive it in his nightmares and jump every time someone touches him, whether it be a family member or friends. He'll beg for his parents to put better locks on the doors and windows and he'll be in fear all the time. Then if the police don't catch the rapist, the boy will fear every day in his young mind that the man will come back to rape him and if the police do happen to catch the rapist, the boy will be subjected to a trial to describe and relive every single horrific moment of the rape while having the rapist right there in the defendant chair staring at him. Lord Jesus! Please be there for this poor child because his life is forever changed. Some vile human being took away his innocence and it breaks my heart and makes me want to vomit. I pray this child's family gets him the help he needs and they give him a strong support system, because this baby is going to need it. What a world we live in.😥
