Zachery Donahue it has NOTHING to do with pleasing others, it’s necessary to win matches!! Or don’t you think that’s the goal?? Both of these guys are wrestling not to lose. Dan Armando he would not have beaten Lee, but maybe this year. However, I think one of the reasons he left is that his approach is way to conservative for PSU. Cael wants guys to constantly be scoring, and that’s just not in Suriano’s nature against better opponents.

You shoot and miss, you take a massive risk - you're dead meat. It seems like they were both trying to tempt the other to make just one mistake, and neither did. I'm not sure which was worse, the refereeing or the "wrestling". Certainly both are accomplished wrestlers, but this was a joke. Both should have been warned for multiple stalling warnings. Yes, the ending was anticlimactic, but so was the rest of this abomination. Furthermore, later in the meet, Ashnault embarrassed himself and his squad with cowboy shooting gestures. There's no place for these antics in wrestling. I could also say the same type of antics apply to Gable Steveson of Minnesota and Austin DeSanto of Iowa. These young guys lack class. I don't care how hyped they get for their matches, they need to be coached to respect the sport.

This match is a little boring, but two very good wrestlers being cautious generally is a boring match. Ill be honest and say I will be surprised if DF doesn't end up with the national championship. Watching him improve over the past few years has been fun. I am not a big fan of his, but good wrestling is good wrestling and when he took care of Ramos it was evident that his hard work has paid off and he has a high ceiling. Sorry, but I don't see Gross beating him in the tournament. He just doesn't seem to have the scramble ability that Fix does (and he is a great scrambler, don't get me wrong). That is why we wrestle though so we will see.....
@scott7296 жыл бұрын
I meant to add that the people in control of this match had no business officiating a high level match like this. I don't think even at the end that the ref knew he just awarded the match to Fix. I really feel that he was ready to restart the match in neutral position.... what a disappointment for all involved. Bush league at best and really something you would expect to see at the jr.-high level. Pretty damn sad. Only good news is these guys will get to wrestle again. No one wants to lose like that and if you are a sport, no one wants to win like that either!!!
@znhait6 жыл бұрын
How can you make such a conclusion from this match? If Fix wrestles like this, he could easily be at the wrong end of a controversial decision. If I were in the 133 lbs class and watched this match, I'd be crazy to be the one that pushes forward. Fix showed absolutely nothing here. He could win, but he's as likely to lose a close one to an underdog for being too conservative.
@scott7296 жыл бұрын
I didn't. If you read my whole comment I said after watching him improve over the past few years... not just this match. Its called an opinion and this one is mine .... that I wouldn't be surprised to see him win the title. Of course he can lose. Don't back yourself into a corner.

So you're saying, if they knew that it would result in a point, they shouldn't have called it? You can't just say "It wasn't that deep" as a ref. Because they're seasoned wrestlers, they know the rules and the refs know that. There were bad calls but the face was NOT one of them.
