The shouting from the sidelines sounds unhelpful.

Usually the coach only gives directions rather than also berating the guy.

That wrestler has an a*hole for a coach.

Agreed, "Quit showing weakness like your cousin" - that coach should be fired. I wrestled 5 yrs and never heard that used as a motivator.

Yeah! lol I bet the coach is family.

Wow, that was intense. Shout out to the camera work too. You can see how much hustle it takes to keep tracking the action. Just like the stamina of the wrestlers, it has to be immense physical and mental effort to keep all that action in frame as the athletes are leaping about. And all from *_one person_* . You don't even get that dynamic framing when theres a whole video crew working with several cameras. Most wrestling coverage is just one or two mounted cameras lazily zoomed out so the tracking is simpler, and its so distant you cant see the actual grappling at all and have to infer what happened after the fact. What wrestlers do with their hands is such a major part and without good tracking and framing its mostly just a guess. Here you can actually see what the hands are doing. Thats *_why_* people call it grappling.

I hope the man that is shouting insults to him isn't his coach.
@Justin_in_London2 ай бұрын
I'm guessing it is his coach, who can be heard yelling these kind of degrading remarks at every match that J.D. Jones wrestles. Admiration to the young man for keeping his spirits up in the face of such abuse, but it's still unacceptable. That poor excuse for a coach ought to be summarily fired.

This is the second video of J.D. that has popped up here in the last 10 minutes or so and he won both. The first was a two minute quick takedown. I didn't think hed win this one because his opponent seemed a lot stronger, but he won in the end, but I'm not sure why. Was it overall points, and the clock ran out?
@MidwestWrestle8 ай бұрын
Yes, you got it right... he won 10 - 7 when time ran out. The final score can usually be found in each video description. As a side note, here is the third match I have of his: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqWsq3Wlgtqsh7M

Great! Who won?
@MidwestWrestle8 ай бұрын
Q. Who won the match? A. Those details can be found in the description for each video. Q. What do {G} and {R} in the video title mean? A. They refer to the green and red ankle bands which the wrestlers wear, and the wristbands which the referee wears, that are used for scoring purposes.
@showmoke8 ай бұрын
@@MidwestWrestle - Yes, I understand what 'R' and 'G' stand for and in other videos they are quite visible on the contestants, but in this video they don't seem to be visible, which is why I posed the question in the first place.
@MidwestWrestle8 ай бұрын
@@showmoke Sorry about that! It's a question I get a lot, so I responded with my standard reply without actually checking to see that they weren't wearing able bands because this is a dual meet. Again, my apologies. Thankfully, they chose to assign intuitive colors, so the wrestler in the red singlet is the red wrestler, leaving the wrestler in the blue singlet to be the green wrestler (who ended up winning the match).

God, it looks so unhealthy and painful. Some of their grabs and half-throws are actually capable of breaking something. I think doing this means killing your health.
