This week's edition is about Dominant 13 chords.
These chords can be used where ever you have regular 7 chords. They have a very identifiable sound. I'll show you a few ways you can voice the chord, but more importantly, I want YOU to do as I demonstrate in the video - start with a 7 chord and work your way up counting the intervals. Then you look for a chord voicing you think sounds good and is easy to play.
Remember this - you can blend in any of these intervals/scale degrees - 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 13 from the Mixolydian mode. Now go exploring!
This is the 4th edition of Q & A with yours truly. Send me your questions and I'll try to answer one per week.

Robert

a bit beyond where I am at. BUT it advanced my understanding of chord structure, how they fit together etc. I like the idea of learning the intervals. I just need to know where my root note is and everything else counts into place. Beautiful. It makes more sense to me that way. Thanks again.

Listen for those intervals - the 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 have their own sound. Listen for it, and spend time finding those notes on the fretboard. Practice - you can do it, Tony!
