Wow fascinating... I wish I was the interviewer here. Im not sure the interviewer knew how to handle her tangential way of speaking. i’ve never really heard her talk at length before. I read her book and wasn’t sure if some of it wasn’t a fever dream. So I wasn’t even sure if the part about Betty Hutton actually happened. But as it turns out it did! This is amazing to me because I am both a fan of Kristin Hersh and Betty Hutton. I mean what random people to both be fans of especially because as it turns out they were friends! I just love the move “ The Miracle at Morgan Creek”. And I’ve seen Kristin play three times live. And that was the other fascinating thing. I’ve often marveled at her stage presence and even seen it remarked upon in reviews of her in concert. I’ve seen her stage presence compared to a snake hypnotizing you among other similar analogies. But to learn here that she was actually dissociating. I never knew that and I wish I could have asked more questions. I think the interviewer was a little freaked out or maybe just taken by surprise. But then I’ve never minded what people call “ tmi”. I’d rather that than rhetoric or small talk!

Omg! The Betty Hutton story is awesome! I didn't know much about that actress but I've heard the name a lot. What a cool experience to have as a young person. Also, the ongoing commentary about Kristin being "weird," even when meant "endearingly," nah. I find her quite eloquent and level headed.

19:35 That is so true about assuming women are only singers. I am a professional classical guitarist (who does NOT sing), and people always assume I am a singer.
