Hey everyone, just a quick, friendly reminder that bots are bad, Mkay? We run TheoJoe's bot destroyer 9000 several times a day to try and clear them out, but they just keep popping up. Unless the comment is from @DawidDoesTechStuff YT Account, it is not from me. I am giving away the Custom PC to a viewer through Gleam - the winner will be drawn next week Wednesday, and the winner will not have to pay for shipping or import duties. Please don't give any personal information or money away to anyone on the internet willy-nilly. P.S. I DO NOT HAVE TELEGRAM.

What a nice video on building PCs! I would also add that with building your own PC, you are able to shop around for the best prices for each individual parts, and also pick the best makers for each component, rather than being restricted to one brand and having little control over what you are getting aside from the basic specs. After all, the prebuild system had to cheap out somewhere to make up for the poor margins on the core components like CPU and GPU.

I think the prebuilt was the winner, because it gave almost the same performance without the effort of building. I've been saying for awhile now that the margin of performance between prebuilts and custom pc's is getting thinner and thinner every year, and I think this is a good example
@linkkevin11
@linkkevin11 Жыл бұрын
But prebuilt over time will last you less, since the GPU is running in such high temps that decreases lifetime. Also, that’s temps of a low temp weather. In summer you’ll see that GPU throttling in performance due to the high temps. The prebuilt is also limited in how much you can upgrade since it’s so small when compared to the BeQuiet it can be upgradable to a bigger variety of GPUs.
@pcgenerationstore
@pcgenerationstore Жыл бұрын
If you want a prebuilt, get a used pc. Sometimes you can find really good deals, like my luckiest find was $350 usd for an i7 11700kf, 3060 ti cyberpowerpc. It was used for like 3-7 months. Too many people spend money on something, and give up on it when they realize they dont want it anymore. Also, the most expensive part of any build nowadays is the gpu. It wouldn't hurt to have your whole build be new, but the gpu used. Even if it was mined, its still good and you'd be saving a good amount of cash

After watching your vids and realizing if Dawid can do it then so can i, i finally dived head first into a waterless pool and stripped my POS alienware and built my own pc. It was exciting, scary, frustrating and relaxing all at the same time usually the feeling i get while on a havy night on the sauce. I built a pc with some NZXT and BEQUIET goodies and i couldnt be happier. Thankyou Dawid keep up the top notch content.

Prebuilds were always bad when I first got into pc's so i learned to build. glad people actually have some decent choices for a pre-built these days. Building will always be better for the overall quality of parts.

I will be 77 y.o. in 2 weeks and I still enjoy building PCs. On Black Friday I went by Micro Center to pick up an order I'd placed the night before. It was for a 2nd system just to play with and for when grandkids visit. I didn't order a case and wasn't planning on getting one yet, but changed my mind and grabbed the cheapest one they had without researching it. It is the Monarch X1 mid-tower ATX case and what a PITA to build in!! There was no room on the backside to manage cables and still put the back panel on. It came with 4 RGB fans that were powered by a molex connector, thus the RGB was not addressable, nor could you change the fan speed. I got the case to work, but it was not a fun build.

Always made my own, for me, my family, my extended family. lots and lots of hand me down parts too, helps people out stuck in a jam or with a failure. used to work as a tech and I've always hated proprietary parts. Love your videos, your scripts are hilarious. :)

After over 30 years of building custom (for myself and others) the stress on first power on never goes away but the euphoria when it all comes together is second to none. Plus you get to avoid Alma going custom, always a bonus.

The novelty wore off for me. Fun when it all works, not fun when it doesnt whether its small niggles or a key component is doa so you need to rma. Last time around I used a custom builder that allowed me to pick whatever components I wanted based around the cpu. Built it and warrantied it (at overclocked speeds) for 2yrs and the price was less than 5% over buying the same components myself. For me it was a no brainer.

combination of white and black in custom builds is always special, especially if its custom built, process alone makes it much more valuable, even tho i can understand convenience of prebuild system even if u leave some performance on the table..

I have been building, and cobelling together spare parts, my own PC's since 2000. They are always superior to any prebuilt for the simple fact that you built it yourself, along with a whole list of other reasons. I wish it wasn't so dang expensive so I could build more than one every few years. Great content as always Dawid. I can't explain why, but I get excited every time I see that you posted a new video. Thanks for all the great entertainment you give to the world.

You're supposed to build, then upgrade with the planned upgrade path you built for yourself. Buying a whole new PC every few years would make you an Apple user. Eeeee! Stinky apples smeared with Steve Jobs fart juice. No thanks, I'll upgrade my system like a maverick, until the point where I can't add a better CPU without risking the formation of a miniature black hole above the northbridge, or the capacitors spray lethal jaundice juice in my eye.

I'm so happy your giving back to the community and helping people in the way you can this means a lot to many people I pray you get to a million subscribers before you know it, If I were to win the pc I'd go for the 3060 because of NVENC and blender optics and ue5 because I'd love to start streaming but other stuff is really expensive and my parents won't let me build one and I'm scared of crapy power supplys in pre built PCs hopefully I'll be learning blender and ue5 soon 😊

I have to admit, I didn't expect the performance to be so close as far as frame rate is concerned. The lower temps and noise pollution are factors to the positive that should not be overlooked. Thanks for putting in the work Dawid.

That Be quiet case looks very practical. I think it's the first I see one with a removable panel for cable placement near the motherboard. I have the same sweaty fingers as Dawid, so I would love to try to build a system with that case! Also have to mention the clear difference in quality between the two PSUs. I don't think the Be Quiet PSU will start a fire just by looking at it the wrong way... Even if it was installed in the MSI Crap-E-Tron edition casing, it would still have a better average life expectation than the "Insert generic name" PSU that is barely powering the MSI tower.

My pc is currently in housed in a 500DX, lovely case! I spraypainted the black parts of it gold, with the few inlaid details (bequiet logo on top and front io) handpainted in a vivid turquoise. Looks really fancy! I wanted to add some turquoise decals as well but couldn't decide on a design. Maybe I'll get to it when I eventually take it apart to upgrade something ^^

Nice work, Dawid. I'd definitely go for the home-built system. There's just something about gaming on a PC that has some of your own blood, sweat and often tears embedded into the components.

I remember my first (and only) machine I built and the pink stuff covering the fan came off when I took the plastic cover off, so I rang the place where I bought it from (it was miles away from where I lived) and they said "whatever you do, don't turn it on, get another fan with the stuff on because it keeps the processor cool" and so I did and to this day, the machine still works perfectly well (although I've not tried it in a couple of years now) but I loved the machine. Ah those were the days... :)
