I would bet most of the “Hardy will never recover/get over it” comments are from quitter lousy wrestlers or non wrestlers. Well you were dead wrong. Hardy won his next two matches including his blood round match and is an AA!! He is one win from wrestling for 3rd/4th. Wrestlers are TOUGH and this crap is water off a ducks back for them. It’s a sport that will humble us to the point getting hit in a spladel was not the worse part of that quarter final match. Losing was. But Hardy recovered and is an AA and even though I am not a Nebraska fan good for Hardy congrats.

People talking shit don't know what just happened. It's 99.98% inescapable. It's a 1/100 shot of even pulling it off and can only happen in the perfect scramble unless you're wrestling someone who literally just walked on the mat that season. 99/100 Mendez falls off the front and Hardy ends up on top of him again. Hardy recovered well and won his next two matches. Which is INCREDIBLY difficult to do after losing in such a way.

At least he didn’t scream and cry in pain like this would happen to high schoolers. This can be very painful to have your legs split and stretched like that. Also be thankful the camera didn’t zoom in far enough to see the greater embarrassment. I think he knows he is trapped and therefore didn’t even seemed to try to pull himself out, because if he doesn’t try, then Mendez will just stop applying more pain and stall through the period. If he tries to pull, he will be extreme pain as Mendez tightens the grip and stretch further. You can’t pin anyone from the spladle position. It ends with a pin because the wrestler gives up and pinned himself to end the pain and embarrassment.
