it's either my monitor is on crack because when I put my to 75 Hertz it seemed like it was going up to 240 it was a completely different refresh rate I was able to 100% tell the difference between 120 hertz and 240 hertz on a 75 Hertz monitor so that means I must of overclocked it two around, I'll.say 240FPS

Try different resolutions, my 80 dollar scepter monitor that’s supposed to be 1080p has a mode where I can use 1600x900 at 75hz. I guess it varies from monitor because my brothers 270 dollar 60hz dell monitor doesn’t have any supported 75hz mode at all

Hi, good video and I like your explanations, but one thing to note is that 144fps on a 60hz monitor won't look as smooth as 60fps in 60hz since 144 isn't a multiple of 60, and therefore you get some skipped frames. A way to bypass this is to simply use intervals of 60 (120, 180, 240) stuff like that, but nevertheless great video anyways

To be safer while overclocking your monitor don’t bump it to 75 immediately try increasing it slowly

This works I overclocked my 60hz monitor to 75hz (because it doesn't go further) with Nvidia control panel , increase your refresh rate by 5 each time and then test it if your monitor still displays something it works and keep doing that until it says it's not supported decrease your refresh rate by 5 and save

If you have a 60hz monitor cap ur FPS at 60. If u are 144hz or 240hz cap ur FPS at that. Any higher FPS than refresh rate causes screen tearing. DO NOT use 144fps on 60hz. Higher refresh rate is about smoothness, which makes you faster. You need a higher refresh rate for these benefits.

I have an older 1080p IPS LCD TV as a monitor. The limitation is that it can only display 60Hz through its HDMI ports, BUT the panel itself should physically be capable of running at 200Hz (with intelligent frame creation turned on). Is it safe to attempt to overclock at all? If it even worked, is there a chance that I'd completely fry its circuits if I then tried getting any close to 200Hz?

I've noticed this on minecraft because my old pc was garbage and I could tell when I was running at 200+ fps and when it was 60, moving through menus or even just moving in general felt so much better on higher fps
