I’m building a corn crib next week and seeing ideas on how other cribs are made like yours with the corn conveyor in the bottom got a good idea on how to make it
@knappfarms3 жыл бұрын
The spot for a conveyor is definitely a must otherwise you will be shoveling all year definitely makes life easier
@Lightning6133 жыл бұрын
A slanted floor toward the conveyor will save some extra shoveling. Allows to use a corn rake to pull it into the conveyor.

With our crib only being about 8 foot wide 95% of the corn would go in without the slant floor if we had the conveyor all the way under with just a corn fork to knock it down but if you have the capability to slant the floors to the center it’s not a bad idea

Expected to see some mice and rats running around in the corn crib......How did you eliminate them....??
@knappfarms3 жыл бұрын
There where some mice when you get right up against the wall can’t get them all but luckily we just don’t have rats in our area no clue why

@@knappfarms yup... Like buying the old 💩 grain from a friend and having to get his bin cleaned out in August, during a heat wave..
@knappfarms3 жыл бұрын
I’ll take a pass on that one 😂 grandpa has only ever had one grain bin and I remember cleaning it out every year before harvest and it leaked every year why he filled it idk but it was always 90 moldy and we had to shovel all the grain to the door sense it it have a sweep

One thing wrong with this video . Need the boy's from dirt grain and steel to help with the shoveling Oh we can't forget Wilson
@knappfarms3 жыл бұрын
Lol we will have to rope them into it because he just got a grinder and wants cattle so we will play it off like we are showing them what to do.

Man Iam not getting any notifications 😡

Love the feed grinding videos. I take it the floor conveyer doesn’t extend all the way under those boards, so you can’t remove the boards to create a shorter shoveling distance once you start getting farther back? Aww, Rusty!

Lol nope that’s all the further it goes under at one time there was an elevator all the way but grandpa broke that before my time and rather then fix it he sent it down the road to the scrape yard
