Hi Harry, When I went to a lockout, in the good ol' days, and the door in question had a Y1 style keyway - there's many similar variations to Linus's original keyway - it was paracentric enough for me to say let's check the other doors, I never "liked" that keyway. You had to accept they were fairly common, and deal with them, which of course you do. Never my favourite, but you handle them well, nice pick. Regards, Brian.

+Brian Hignett Thanks. I've seen hundreds of picking videos, and it always seemed to me that people viewed Y1 keyways as similar in difficulty to a KW1, or similarly wide open keyways. I figured that I was just doing something wrong... but those keyways really are tricky. Particularly the ones with tighter key/keyway tolerances.

Whenever I see the LockPickingLawyer and a lock come together, I know how its going to turn out, ... kind of like watching Rocky III, you know how its going to end, but enjoy watching it anyway, handsdown the best lockpicker on KZbin.

Nice pick, looks like you were using heavy tension, with the white knuckles!

That was a big hook on that pick.I must say you have a great skill in the top of key way tension control. You certainly blasted through the spools, strange pins for that lock, or is it me? Pin set 2 looked completely different from the others (color wise). Nice pick and thanks for the video.
@lockpickinglawyer8 жыл бұрын
+Peter M Thanks. Pin set #2 were copper colored. Not sure why. I've seen that in other locks, but never found an explanation for the use of such pins.

Interesting pins - did you find out meanwhile if it was the original pinning? And did you feel the spools when picking? Great lock and very nice picking as always.

+Potti314 According to JH, he replaced two of the springs because they were damaged. Everything else is the same as when he got it from Rick.

Great lock and picking as usual my friend😘😘👍🔐🔓 That lock does look like it's been messed with( I would be very surprised if it came out of the factory like that. Question for you,how did you choose the pick for this lock( was it trial and error),do you have a method??
@lockpickinglawyer8 жыл бұрын
+Pick Beard Thanks. As far as pick selection goes, I needed something like a #7 hook to deal with the keyway. Since this lock required heavy tension, I went with a #4 Hook (like the #7, but in .025").
