$15 ebay Boost Controller. Is It Any Good?

Pressure side that goes to Intake Manifold? You mean to the Turbo Output Nipple where boost controller connect and then to WG itself.

I am confused how this works. Does boost pressure hold the wastegate shut? If so, wouldn't opening it bleed off that boost pressure lowering boost back to spring pressure?

Bleeding off pressure means that it will require more air pressure(boost) to open the wastegate valve, since some air pressure is being lost on its way to the wastegate through the boost controller.

@@Shane_Whalley I think I understand it now. Boost pressure helps open the valve. Boost pressure + the spring is what is called "on spring pressure" as some say. You remove that boost pressure and it makes it harder to open the spring and valve which increases boost. So when I heard spring pressure I thought it meant just spring pressure alone but if you had no boost reference in the bottom port of wastegate that 7 lb spring now becomes like a 14 lb spring or so. Is that correct?

Yes. Like in a WRX they have 7psi spring but most models (older ones) run 13-14.7 psi boost as the computer uses an electronic valve to limit how much boost reaches the spring@@CarportGarageDragRacing

Correct. It increases boost by opening bleed ports. Bleeding off air pressure makes it so the the boost level needs to be higher in order to make the same line pressure that it used to make in order to open the wastegate.
