Excellent, I've seen some of these sites but thank you for the details and background. Definitely a preferred view for CNC'ers.

Tesselation is the tiling of a surface in geometric shapes. Complex forms are interpreted by modeling software as a combination of geometric shapes and saved as Standard Tesselation Language, or STL.

Can you use inventables and cut rocket with vectric software? What about provencut?
@cyberreefguru11 ай бұрын
Hello Vic - if you can get a vector out of the software, then you can use it with Vectric. By that mark, you can export SVGs from both Easel and CarbideCreate so they should work, but Provencut does not have project files so there is nothing to use there. Thanks for watching!

ive not reached bloopers yet, but Inventables makes X-Carve, Carbide 3D makes Shapeoko

Yep. Sometimes it doesn't make sense to re-film something when you see the error while editing. Thanks for the catch! -Tom

Provencut test drive only seems to cover metals and no woods.
@cyberreefguru Жыл бұрын
When I last looked, there were a few woods, but not many. Same for hobby-level machines. I will check again though. Thanks for watching!

Where is the down there in the description.?
@cyberreefguru2 жыл бұрын
Hi Janet - it depends on which platform. Using the browser, you should see "SHOW MORE" under the title; on mobile you should see a little arrow that allows you to expand the description. Thanks for watching!

thank you. great job. I want to sell 3d files for CNC users. what kind of files do a CNC entrepreneur needs?
@cyberreefguru Жыл бұрын
Hello Rahim - it depends what you want to offer. Any 3D model needs something like an STL or STEP or IGES. You can offer those, or you can step it up and offer completed tool paths for the models. Perhaps preconfigured files for the popular CAM software packages. Thanks for watching!

Thingivers maybe the largest stl site, but it is soo unreliable and has so many technical problems… 😐
@cyberreefguru2 жыл бұрын
It certainly has had its fair share of challenges recently, no doubt. Prusa's new website seems to offer a lot of promise and further lower the bar for 3d printing. We need something like that for CNC :)
