the list assumes people are mindlessly eating breakfast/lunch/dinner + snack and popular unhealthy habits. no. 5/6/7 minus sugar based items can actually be part of healthy keto and intermittent fasting (1 to 2 meals) with nutrient dense greens. the meat quality should be grass fed or organic if possible and controlled portions. eating less to improve healthy through intermittent fasting is free/natural and cost/time effective way to improve overall health. excercise/sleep quality and stress management and self improvement focus is essential too for wholistic improvement. chasing isolated canned and food items sounds good but an integrated effort to learn how focus on adjustments for health must be the focus and the by product of that is balanced blood pressure and more. for example, eating too much processed carbs and sugar is more lethal than all these items. the invisible combined detrimental effect of insulin resistance disregulated sleep is elusive. be humble and fearless to put these tips together and more to become a champion of your health. that is the bottom line. the journey is tailor made for each individual. do the needful and be consistent....the results will come!

Hi Dr. Frita, I dropped my weight from 265 lbs to 235 lbs since July of last year. I underwent shoulder replacement surgery and began eating bagged salads and found my BP spiked in spite of being on Bystolic. When I read the sodium content of say a Cesar Salad, I was blown away by how much sodium it contained in the dressing/croutons. Then I was adding some chopped anchovies for taste. Needless to say, I’m done with that behavior. Thank you so very much for your videos. I have two grand babies whom I absolutely adore and would like to be around for them.

Dr. Frita. Thank you - I have been trying to tell my husband everything you have delivered in a nutshell. After seeing a cardiologist and he pointed out that cheese was his downfall. You have filled in the blanks. He loved it when you said one corn dog are you kidding yourself. You can't stop at two. We bought your book and believe it should be in every cardiologist's office. He is going to share his with a young friend who has high blood pressure. Now we just have to stop the cooking shows from telling everyone you have to salt every addition and layer as you cook. I make homemade pumpernickel bread and white bread and only use a quarter tsp of salt for 1 loaf. You have saved my husband from a massive stroke and perhaps even a widow maker. We love you and your common sense that seems to be lacking from most people today.

Patricia Dickinson *SAME! I've been trying to get my husband to be more serious about his health. I don't use salt unless absolutely necessary. I don't have a salt shaker anywhere that he can grab it. I grow our vegetables and can them. I only use a minimal amount that is absolutely necessary to can what I've grown. We only eat chicken and Salmon. I also love Dr. Frita and will purchase her 📚 book.

Keeping it real...I have always rinsed my canned veggies and NEVER eat a whole can. Was raised in Europe by people who went thru wars. We never piled on the cold cuts as they do here. I don't eat pickles,so that's not an issue. I do try to eat things in moderation but do admit to loving fries . LAYS plain salted are a treat couple times a month and yes I can eat 2/3 of a bag in one go. I crave salt sometimes. Don't smoke, drink a couple bottles of wine in the winter and a couple six packs over several days in the summer. I'm 67 years old female and not interested in living to be 90. Dementia runs in the family. I cut the grass and do all the gardening, the household chores and the shopping. Did I mention my hubby is sickly and needs my help as did my parents before they passed. I'm retired now from a big box retailer after 41 years . I can feel my blood pressure rising sometimes but a one a day low dose aspirin works a charm. So let me enjoy my few dietetic sins and eat what I want!

I had a doctor just like her once & I was so glad to have her for the short time I had her. She literally save my life, one day I was in her office & she asked me what type of foods did I eat. She explained it just like this doctor did & then some. That day I left her office and went straight to the supermarket & I started reading the sodium in thing's, I was shocked. I didn't even know that their was salt in milk, they put salt in damn near everything nowadays. Like for instance, one hotdog has over 500mg of salt & you know one hotdog isn't about to fill you up. But at Smart & final they sell a box of hamburger patties 60ct and each patties is only 50mg of salt. So 2 patties is 400mg less salt than 1 hotdog. I love rice-a-roni but be careful with the little pack of seasoning inside, it's like 600mg of salt. So I use like a third of it, believe me it still taste just as good. One other secret she didn't mention is (GARLIC) add garlic to your spaghetti, stews, beans, etc.(DRINK PLENTY OF WATER) try to drink water your meals instead of soda because water delutes salt & soda has salt and sets on top of your food. One last thing, (BE CAREFUL OF FOOD OR SNACKS WITH SEA SALT) THAT STUFF IS A INSTANT BLOOD PRESSURE RAISER. TAKE CARE 👍🏽♥️🙏

The lesson learned here is this. If you have high bold pressure, DO NOT EAT ANYTHING. Maybe just a small glass of water everyday. But here is the thing. Grandma diagnosed with high blood pressure at age 55, numbers run between 150 to 180. She eats anything, loves Popeyes fried chicken. When she cooks, I can’t eat her cooking because it’s too salty. She’s turning 87 next year.

@yvettesinclair1717 Жыл бұрын
She may be 85, but is she taking every kind of medication that's been invented??? The way folk cooked back in the day, it is no wonder their health was/is so bad. I just recently married, my husband shakes salt like crazy after I cook because he's used to his aunt's and mother's cooking, who uses too much salt and sugar, both have health issues through the roof, can hardly walk, both have bags of medication, frequent doctors appointments, and meriads of complaints. I'm 60, I take no medication for anything. Yes I do watch my sodium and sugar intake. I eat to live, not live to eat, sugar and salt means nothing to me. As a matter of fact I detest salt shaking. I don't buy salt/haven't bought salt, don't intend to buy salt. Why do I need to when EVERYTHING else I buy ALREADY has salt in it? I love me, my body is the Temple of the HOLY SPIRIT, and God's temple shouldn't be propped up by all kinds of medication, and complaints. If when it comes to life, we'd start letting the Holy Spirit do what He was sent to do - Lead, Guide, and Direct. Folk so ignore God, Jesus, and the HOLY SPIRIT as though they as the Trinity is a plague. When will folk began to look at Jesus and the benefits of that? I so enjoy my relationship with Jesus Christ, and the interaction that experience with the HOLY SPIRIT literally blows my mind. Oprah's or Tyler's money put together can't top that with me. Give me my relationship with Jesus, that's what's most important to me. That's my health, my peace, my mental stability, and my financial security - my relationship with Jesus Christ can't be duplicated.

I eat lunch at the senior center slowly with my own spices. Otherwise a mix of everything good or bad in moderation. At 88 I read all the health info but eat as i desire. Grew up on healthy food and look 20 years younger according to health professionals. But in todays world too much is overprocessed. Hard for people to resist. Look at a persons flab and what they have in their grocery carts and you see why they look unhealthy.

@@anne-no2ic I've noticed the grocery aisles where you find junk-food snacks and sodas, are twice as wide as any of the other grocery aisles. I used to think it was the largess of the shoppers who frequent that part of the store, but then realised it's because of the giant wooden skids requiring access, to stock all that sugary drink on the shelves. Here's to your happiness and good health!🍎

I am a new subscriber! I was diagnosed with HBP with my 3rd child. When my 4th came, I had to be induced because my blood pressure was high. After delivery, I ended back in the hospital with stats that read 200/115 or something crazy like that but stroke level high. I was told when I lost weight I could be off meds. Well, I lost the weight. Went from a size 2XL to 4. I am now a size 7/8. Doctor told me I would NEVER be off meds. I am trying to remove bad eating habits with healthy. Your video was my reminder of what to avoid. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of foods to avoid with you have HBP.
@originaloriginshealthandwe8809 Жыл бұрын
You absolutely can get off of your meds! Anything white, especially SUGAR, causes high blood pressure as well. Hyperinsulinemia is the root cause of most health issues we have. Please introduce your babies to a healthy lifestyle while they are young. Begin eliminating anything white from your diet to include: flour products, rice, pasta, potatoes, salt and sugar. Also, limit starchy foods such as beans and corn. I don’t know how much water you drink, but water is a natural blood pressure regulator. Find you a holistic practitioner if your doctor does not want to work with you. It is an absolute lie that you have to be on medication for the rest of your life. Look into a whole food plant based diet and eat your fruits and vegetables uncooked or lightly steamed. Please keep us posted on your journey and thank you for sharing your experience.

You don’t have to. I am extremely sodium sensitive, and if I eat more than 180mg of sodium at a time, my blood pressure goes up high. I bake my chicken and vegetables with no sodium. I bake a medley of vegetables with olive oil, onion powder, and Italian seasons with no salt. I bake my chicken with olive oil Italian seasons and no salt. I cook macaroni and add “no sodium-added” Campbell’s chicken soup and red pepper flakes. There are many ways to cook with our sodium that tastes really good.

Thank you for explaining sodium content. I use lots of canned veggies. Usually the small cans of 630 mg. Of sodium, stated on the label as only 27% of daily value. Which according to your comments are not an unhealthy level. Your tip on soaking canned goods in water, is something I am going to do. I don't have high blood pressure but I keep myself informed and maintain healthy eating. Most times I keep my portions small. Meat is not in my diet, seafood is my favorite. I have also found, no salt labels on canned veggies reduces sodium to 20mg, 1% of the daily value. Listening to health and diet professionals and reading has helped me tremendously. Again, Thanks

You are the most real Doctor I have ever come across. Thank you for laying it out so we all will understand it. You are right, none of us eat 1 serving of foods. I truly cannot believe how much sodium is in some foods. I knew lunch meats, canned foods, pickles , bacon, and some processed foods have high sodium. To me if something taste salty (my tongue is very sensitive to salt) I don't like it. I watch all salty foods, and fatty foods and do not salt anything but eggs and potatoes and salt them barely. I just don't like salt or salty foods. I try to follow a low carb lifestyle. it seems to agree with me the best. thank you again for keeping it real.

I always rinse my can foods. Been rinsing most of my life and I’m 61 now. I hope that helps removing the sodium.
@alan301892 жыл бұрын
Good advice! Avoid canned vegetables entirely. Buy frozen vegetables, or grow your own vegetables if you can. As she mentioned, if you have canned vegetables, rinsing them off with fresh water will help knock the sodium down a little bit. Also, it’s best to avoid all processed foods. They say to shop the perimeter of the supermarket, where most of the unprocessed foods are. Another thing about ketchup, is many brands contain high fructose corn syrup, which is even worse for you. I avoid ketchup unless it’s free of high fructose corn syrup. You’re going to gain a ton of weight and that’s gonna increase your blood pressure. Heinz, perhaps the most popular brand, has high fructose corn syrup in it. I won’t touch the stuff anymore. European countries ban high fructose corn syrup.
@jeremiahanthony4123 Жыл бұрын
Yup and ranch which is what she said condiments. . .You can make your own ketchup and stuff like that with less sodium. STRESS CAUSED IT MORE SO AT THE TIMS BUT BAD EATING CHOICES LIKE KETCHUP AND MORE RECENTLY BINGING ON CHINESE FOOD LIKE THREE PLATES AND A WHOLE LITER OF SODA THREE TIMES A WEEK AND PIZZA AND HOT WINGS AND FRIES DID IT TO ME INCLUDING EVERYTHING SHE MENTIONED IN THIS VIDEO AND NOW I RECOGNIZED IT.IF I DIDNT HAVE THAT ACCIDENT DOING THE WALL EXERCISE I WOULD PROBABLY KILLED MYSELF FROM SLEEP APNEA AND GUT PROBLEMS WHICH LEADS TO CLOGGED ARTERIES AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. They are putting high fructose corn syrup in far less foods now and when omitted it even says so on the label. The usual suspects like regular soda and canned fruit will probably always have it. You can get sugar free ketchup, though it will still have much sodium from the salt. Can you imagine ketchup without either of these though? You could make your own ketchup.

I’ve noticed that everything in this country is laced with salt that sometimes it burns your tongue. I feel so bad for the young people especially because they don’t know the danger of eating all these foods and they are addicted to all these that you have named. Sometimes we can say that” we dig our own grave with our teeth”. None of these companies making these products care about you, they just want to sell their stuff so you are the one who is going to suffer later and it’s your body , so prevention is way better than cure.
