JH, Be aware of what you feed your mind and then there will be no unhappiness. To feel better reduce negative thoughts and overthinking. Avoid comparing with others, reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed, avoid moving too much and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Never meditate with expectations but with awareness. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Observe your breath sensations before sleep, in college, at work, taking a walk, when reading, etc.etc. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Best wishes--Counsellor.

Reduce watching negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind. For any problem of stress and overthinking read my msg and do the practice regularly to feel better. . @@debbie03864 I feel you, Deborah. I understand that there are many like us. The work that we need to do, is sometimes called reparenting, re-wiring, know thy self, or awakening, etc. I believe that my happiness, my enthusiasm for life, my courage/confidence, my love of self and others, my true worth, is most abundant when I am simply TRUE TO MYSELF. For example, when I do something that I am not comfortable doing (because someone important to me wants me to), I don’t enjoy it, I feel guilt or shame, and I am teaching myself that I cannot and don’t trust my self to determine what is acceptable for/to me… I learned when I was young, that my feelings, thoughts, needs weren’t important, stifle them and put a smile on your face, or go away. It’s strange that as a youngster, I naturally empathized, consoled, encouraged, listened, and loved but didn’t receive the same. My caregivers weren’t equipped/capable of such. Anyway, I hope that you will apply yourself toward learning, understanding, awareness, knowledge; there is much true, accurate and important information available here on you tube, as well as elsewhere.

Nahhh you can't do that. If it was that easy everyone could just stop thinking about anything they want to anytime. Thoughts appear spontaneously. So do moods like anger. The thoughts of something angry will arrive and you won't be able to stop them. Then you will become trapped being angry about being angry. All about not being able to stop being angry or thinking about something that makes you angry. Those thought will arrive you need the make space for them. Let them com through but don't get sucked in. A great talk on this it Michael Singer?? Think that's his name it called "not getting trapped on the waters of the mind" or something. Habe a listen to that on KZbin.

This is all well and good, but people need to understand that anger, unhappiness, depression, or whatever other emotion you wish to call it, are the emotions that give birth to the arts and sciences. All I'm saying is that if you're upset, go over to your easel and draw something lovely, or take out your pen and paper and write a wonderful sonnet, or go into your garage and create a one-of-a-kind bird feeder for your yard, or take out your sewing machine and stitch that blouse you've been contemplating. Put your emotions into something positive, and you will feel good, and you will continue to feel good the more you apply yourself in these ways. Your project can be small and almost cost-free. Utilize your creativity.

When the same situations occurs throughout my life no matter how much I personally grow. Always get the same results doesn't matter how hard I work, love, compromise with others, even try to empathize with others. I'm always alone. When I try finding out what happened. I'll get excuses like I was controlling eventhough I'd leave because he didn't love me. He would came back and would change eventhough I'd leave him alone. Yet it's my fault he couldn't love me. Also been accused of being addictive like a drug. That he couldn't let me go these are excuses that I'll hear from men. Somehow it's my fault I don't want to be played. I even had someone tell me he misses me after he tells me he loves someone else. I told him to let go of the past and let me go because he loves someone else. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong because these patterns follow me. In love and work doesn't matter how honest and open about my boundaries. No matter how much I try working with others they try to take advantage of me. Considering I'm 50 and still haven't found love, stability, or a career makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong. Considering I moved alot growing up and the patterns are with different people and places of employment. It can't be just them and when I can't find solutions to problems. I like getting different perspective to help find solutions.

Think less about how you feel in the moment. It's only a moment. How many moments in a day let alone a lifetime. It's not a matter of them letting you go, it's you not letting them go. People are in our lives for only a season. We grow they grow and letting relationships evolve is loving them and yourself. I'm a widow, I don't want to be alone and if God has another life partner for me our paths will cross if not I'll still be ok alone. I trust God only he knows the future.
@azaleataylor80312 жыл бұрын
@@nunya8843 the point I was making was people pretend to be something their not. I wanted to be left alone told them I wanted to heal first because I want love not lust. Got out of a bad relationship and just wanted to be left alone. The men I met would convince me of something they weren't just to get close to me. Then when the relationship started getting serious they'd bail with their excuses. I'm curious what I'm doing to attract the wrong men. That's why I took myself off the market refuse to date anyone until my heart is completely healed.

Your right we never know what our holy father has planned for us just have to look for the love he'd want us to have and give others. Just have to look for the love.

There is some sites online for meal plans.Patrick Holford is good ,he distills alot of info ,into relatively easy to understand books.He started as a psychiatrist and became fed up with the drug/machine view bias so looked into how to optimize nutrition instead.Hope that helps bud.🙂

Hi. I know you weren't asking me, but I am really huge on self care...I don't know at what stage of life you are, but try spending a Friday night at home, eating your favorite healthy foods, drinking your favorite drinks, taking a bath/working out/doing yoga, or binge watching your favorite TV show, with candles lit for ambiance, whatever makes you feel good...and make it a tradition with yourself to celebrate it being Friday. It will become a comfort to you....then when you're feeling sad or upset, you can do the same routine and it will help you feel better. :) I do this and it's my favorite time spent, with myself just doing whatever I feel like doing whenever I feel like doing it! Some would say it seems like wasted time, but trust me it is the most valuable!

Srinivas, In life there are only 2 problems--mind and the body. Be aware of what you feed your mind. Reduce negative thoughts and overthinking. Avoid comparing with others, reduce negative social media, daily morning sunlight walks and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. You may reach a state of equanmity.

Great presentation. Very Helpful. But Cat Stevens doesn't sing Cats in a Cradle. It is Harry Chapin.😸

Dr Snipes, fess up: you're really Kristen Wiig, aren't you? Kidding aside, this video is both charming and instructive. I learned a lot about myself from it. I've now subscribed to your channel, and I look forward to watching a lot more of your work.

Hello!! What kind of counseling do you provide? My son over analyzes and it had caused him to lock up in fear or trying. I have taken him to counselors that seem to fall short. Some of their responses are "he will grow out of it" " its just teenage stuff" No, it's not. He blows up in the face of criticism...especially from men. He gets along very well with women. His father is around but not enough. What "type" of counselor can help?

Hello Mrs. Snipes. If I have concerns about my mental health and want to inform my doctor where do I start? What types of lab reports should I request? Would a certain test provide a diagnosis? Would I need several tests? Thank you kindly.
@DocSnipes2 жыл бұрын
Just write down all your symptoms and concerns ahead of time. Go over them with your Doctor. Possibly, even give your notes to your Doctor's receptionist when you check in....so your Doctor can read over them before he/she come in to see you. It is your Doctor's job to know the tests that are needed.

Hello how do you deal with people one Upper. A family member is like these and it’s annoying, and another annoying thing is this person is always admiring others success for example so and so has a boat, oh my boy owns a shop etc just annoying how should I communicate with this person so that perhaps I’m not priming this person to go into that annoying behavior any advice. Thanks

These suggestions are beneficial ( hopefully ) if one is to strive to have a better place in relationship with the others. But I happened to be agreed with Jean Paul Sartre the French philosopher who said : “HELL IS WITH OTHER PEOPLE.” you really don’t need them , believe me.

Who do you deal with? I have had good, neutral, and not good-at-all contact with other people---and myself. There are many possible tricky things in life, and people can be one of them, I've found, but they can also be helpful, supportive, kind, interesting, and interested in us too, or neutral. It's worth checking who you are around all the time and seeing if you can do something to improve this situation or your own repeated thoughts that hurt you. At least IMHO. Good luck, it isn't always easy, I know.

Anger is not so bad for me. Once I “vent” I’m ok. Lol. I will very often vent rather quickly and get over it rather quickly. Most of the time tho, it’s def with good reason. Anger is like a good friend to me that lets me know when I should not just sit there and take any bs from someone or when I should step back and take “me time” or get some rest or say no to this or that “obligation.” Etc. And yah. I usually wind up venting in a support group or to a friend or just me alone. I try to get it out without harming anyone else, tho I have no problem with smarting off to some jerk who earned it tho. Lol. If someone obviously doesn’t care how I feel then why should I care if I offend them with giving them a good return on their “investment?” Besides, the way I see it is that it’s just their natural consequences anyways. If you wring a nose, it will most surely bleed.
