I think it's more that he has to have food in the scene so that he has the option..which he usually exercises..like that scene in Moneyball when he's in the Cleveland GM's office and the peanuts are sitting on the desk and of course he grabs a handfull. Eating in a scene always makes the actor more interesting. I still have vivid memories of Travolta in Urban Cowboy and don't remember much about that movie except for the way Travolta chomped and guzzled his was through a scene with Ms. Winger. Legendary.

Brad is one of the few, if not the only actor who actually eats in movies. I've noticed the phenomenon that actors rarely eat in movies or TV. They mostly play with their food, suggesting the food will be eaten, but never really eat it. Actors have to stay thin and don't want to ruin their diets by doing multiple takes of eating. Brad's eating is rare and legendary.

Yes!!!! I noticed that every movie he's in he eats constantly. In Oceans he had food in his mouth the full 90 minutes of it. It must be like a prop he's always holding a cup or a glass aswell
