If you have parents, you don't know how much rich you are. That line touched me
@TexasStardust113 жыл бұрын
That’s a fact! Both my parents are deceased and I feel like my foundation is in shambles. But, one thing that keeps me going is, I have changed so many generational curses this far and I’m gonna keep pushing! I’m determined to NOT have the life my parents had. It wasn’t until I moved away to FL in my own and started learning new skills that I grew up poor.

Nathaniel Olliff Save a lot of money. All you can save in 1 year. Make a bank account and save the money there and start all over again. Making another bank account at the end of the other year and so on. There are so many bank's. Make bank account in € £ $ and keep all the money in the bank. Never touch it. One of your bank account, will be your retirement plan. All that money, could help you, at your retirement to start a small business, like a fast food or a market, bar, etc. Keep your money, away from your woman. Woman's are with you, just for the money. If they divorce you. Make sure you have secret money saved in bank's, blame you lost the money at the casino, save cash. Woman will divorce you, you pay a lot of money for raising the kid's after divorce, the kid's you will see once a month a few minutes, the kid's who are educated by the woman, who say your a alcoholic and good for nothing. Be rich, don't worry about tomorrow. Work, save money and do everything for yourself. Nobody will.

I recommend reading the book “the millionaire mindset“. It examines the habits and patterns of wealthy people, and some of them may surprise you. This list is mostly correct except for using coupons and shopping sales. The majority of millionaire households do use coupons for groceries and other consumables, and they funnel the savings toward investments and college funds for their grandkids

Idk..... are you able to verify that its "the majority"? I don't doubt alot do but for the multimillionaires i just feel like it wouldn't be practical, you've probably gone out of your way to save a dollar but i doubt you have or even would to save a single penny, they're on the level of saving pennies and of course that would add up but when they're making 4 digits a day, relatively its still pennies to them, i think they think in terms of % not $

Commuting is bad, I agree; but you can listen to podcasts that can add value to your life if you do have a long commute.
@paulbrower42654 жыл бұрын
You can listen to books on tape and to classical music. The problem with a long commute is that you are doing nothing to improve yourself. This is especially so with people who commute by bus. You see them at the end of the day -- most are broken (sure, most have horrible jobs,), but they must wait until the bus gets there to take them to their destination. Every day is like that.

After viewing this video I can admit that the author is poor too. Rich people are rich because they know the value to the money. I know one guy, he invested in the advertising campaign of my project few years ago, and he is very simple guy. He often wears clothes from Walmart, he can use public transport sometimes. He’s multimillionaire, and yeah, his clothes are cheap, but he loves Swiss watches, he often wears ~$400-800K watch. Swiss watch is an investment, they are getting more expensive every year. What I’m trying to say is that there’s nothing bad if you’re using discount coupons or driving a 10+ years car, that’s the best you can do now, and that’s smart. If the author of this video suddenly became rich, she’s going to spend them all in few month.

This video was quite difficult to watch because I ended up identifying with quite a few items on your list, but I'm happy to have watched it because at least I know what I have to work on now. I'm determined to move toward a better life and a lot of the videos you fine folks at Alux create are integral to making a game plan that's most effective. As to people getting offended by this video, I don't understand it. How could anyone get upset over this sort of thing? Being poor is only a temporary thing and this video is actually a good road map out of it. All of the items on this list are things that can be changed to some degree or another, it just depends on how bad a person wants out of their old paradigm. It seems to me that if a person is really so upset about being poor, getting mad about a video that confirms it just solidifies their denial and ensures they will remain poor. Thank you for the video, I hope you keep 'em coming!

Hey! I am not as poor as I thought I was! I could go 6 months without working, No credit card or medical debts, no long commute, nice car less the 3 years old, never steal music or cable or anything, some income without working, a few friends, clean modest house in a modest neighborhood and clean, simple clothes, almost excellant credit score, a few modest investments, ahead on all my monthly expenses and most of all a few good friends. I am not rich but I'm so thankful. I 'm not poor. Until I watched this, I thought I was poor.

Invest in regular household products like Pine Sol or bleach. It may not seem like much, but it will go a long way. Maybe invest in your local utility like the electric company that provides light 💡to homes in your area. That would be a good start. Hope this helps.

I choose to rely on myself and the consequences of my own actions, rather than on the government as a safety net. This is why Point #12 ("You expect the government to take care of you after you retire" was my favourite point in the video. I came to this conclusion myself years ago and have shared this sentiment with anyone who was willing to listen. It's SO rewarding to see that Alux.com agrees with my way of thinking on this point!!

Alux family I remember once in alux's videos, alux said that poor people are religious people due to the fact that they rely on "a magical being" to take care of their problems. Logically speaking I agree, however from where I come from it's the opposite in my community. All the lower class people in my community spend their free time going out to dinners, watching TV, partying, etc. The richer part of the spectrum from my community ( I'm talking about people born poor and became rich, people born rich and stayed rich, Doctors, Pharmacists, Dentists, entrepreneurs...) spend their free time at synagogue learning Torah and praying. I wanted to reach out to alux and hear their response on the matter.

I think poor people are compulsive buyers. Buying things you don't need or will never use is plain dumb. frivolous purchases are useless self gratification. Have a good wardrobe practice. If you buy a new shirt throw the oldest or least used one away to make space for it, shoes, trousers, under wear all clothes need replacing from time to time but not all the time. You will think twice about buying some new trainers if you have to throw there equivalent ones away when you get home. Do not hoard stuff ever. Have what you love, love what you have.
@zakosist7 жыл бұрын
It would make more sense for a rich person to be a compulsive buyer, as they may actually afford it. You wouldn't buy unnecesary stuff if you can barely afford the neccesities. But then again I know someone who is often poor because they are a compulsive buyer. So its partially true

True BUT, whats the point of having money if you dont use it to buy things that'll make you happy. Its really more about finding the right balance than just completely doing without compulsive buying
@nealthedeal17 жыл бұрын
Yes we are talking about money and happiness. If you really like something and go out of your way to buy it then it's not really compulsive purchase. Foe example every week or less we go shopping and it is always better to eat before you go because you are more likely to spend time checking out some bargains and reading the labels than if you hungry. Take your time to decide what's the best option and as i said before have a good wardrobe policy. It's not that poor people are poor because they want to be but being more sensible with your money when you have less just makes sense. It's all about saving little bits of money here there and everywhere to buy something that you really want that will keep you happy for years rather than weeks or days. Food again always choose the best and freshest you can which nowadays is not so difficult just stay away from prepared meals or fast food it may be cheap quick and easy but we all know about that story.

And you dony have a lot of money of course you will prefer not to stay in good conditions, like a good place in town, or somewhere where your bath looks ok, you will accept all this stuff just to pay less . I imagine that you dont have to deal with all troubles, im from an european country... a middle developed one. And this for a lot of us its something that you have to deal with.
