The "megalodon" was a basking shark, and it washed up on Long Island, New York, not in Australia. The images are identical to those in the video, leaving no doubt. According to CNN, it was 26 ft 6 in (7.9 m) long, weighing 5,000 pounds (2268 kg). Being a suspiciously round number, I suspect the weight is a loose estimate. It was still alive (though dying) when it washed ashore. I get that it's supposed to be sensational, and that revealing the actual species would've ruined the fun, but is it too much to expect that they get the beach right?

I lived right above the Pacific Ocean for about 30 years and every morning early, I ran the length of my beach (between rocky outcrops) often with my dog. It was always interesting to see what had washed up during the night, sometimes sand-dollars, different shells, sometimes a dead animal like a jelly-fish or octopus. I was hoping for a bottle with a message in it or some such treasure! One morning, my whole beach was covered with a crispy/gooey mass of bluish-purple! I took my dog back home and returned to try to figure it out. I asked, locals called them "Wind-Sailors" and they were kind of like a jelly-fish with a thin wing-like crest on them. They were of course dead, and gone the next morning thanks to the next high tide. (I learned they were Velella).

When I was 8 years old, we used to go to "Overlook Beach", near Robert Moses State Park. From time to time there were jelly fish warnings. We didn't think much of them as we only went into the ocean once in a while. One day, I went "body surfing" because the tide was so high. These waves were twice my young size, so I was having a blast, all the while my father watched. Suddenly my legs were entangled in what I thought was a giant jelly fish. I couldn't swim, and I was going under. Immediately, my father came to my rescue. I was entrapped in a gigantic sheet of what I can only describe as a clear plastic cloth. I thought a giant jelly fish was eating me, as it was the same color. It took several men to remove the sheet of plastic from the water.

The cartoon-like characters that appear with the number, (2) The rediculous showing of something that will bring you good luck always (stupid), and last but not least, the pronunciation of countries, cities, etc, around the world. They should look it up before each segment. It makes you feel that they know what they are talking about.

If the content is at least interesting with some kind of amazing or unique facts to it, all the fake sounding excitement isn't necessary. It seems like there is 2 different narrators for this channel, and I'm not sure if Im mistaken, but one of them sounds and speaks better than the other. it's important to not get too obsessed with one thing and to share with the world. the discovery will always be his. grown up paleontologists also put their finds in museums. they do not keep them in their bedrooms.

I'd say 100 shark attacks a year makes them pretty damn rare considering how many people spent time in the water.

I mean I have seen beautiful and sometimes strange looking life in tidal pools and large animals swimming freely off the shore. None of those things are unusual to me now but they were wonderous to a little boy. One time me and some other children were taking eels out of a very small stream in Weymouth Bay. In Bicester (In the Midlands) the skies were occupied by kestrels hovering and then diving for their prey. At Korf Castle I found an old boars tooth just off to the side of the trail and I held on to that tooth for a long time. Now I draw and I paint landscapes and many of these childhood experiences have shaped how I express myself now.
