I used Guitar Pro 7 and now 8. I absolutely love this program. It has made analyzing, transcribing, and even transposing pieces so much easier. There is definitely a learning curve. That's not a criticism of Guitar Pro, either. The application is so robust, and has so many features that you can do just about anything. Any time you have that much control at your fingertips there will be a learning curve. That is far better than having no real options or control.

An oddity with GP8 in windows is that when playing through USB audio, there is a loss of the first note after a rest. So, if a score has a quarter note rest, the 1st 16th note of a phrase will not play. You can take the same score, play it through musescore, and there will be no loss of the note. There is also no loss if played through Realtek at the headphone jack. Since the loss only occurs with GP8 using usb audio, and not musescore using usb audio, the problem has to be with GP8. If another track is ran concurrently and a single full note muted on the audio track, the loss does not occur.

0:14 Keep in mind that adding an audio track (while a great thing) might conflict with #9 (05:22) of using repeat signs. For example, if the audio track was recorded from a live performance, not recorded with a click track, the musician will most likely have slight variations in the tempo of their playing when repeating sections of the song. This means the notes in that repeated section can be synced perfectly the first time through, but on subsequent repeats the score and the audio track will almost certainly get out of sync. For this reason, I often remove the repeat symbols and write the score out to its full length without repeating within the score. Yes, this makes the overall length of the score longer, but it's the only way to assure the score stays in sync with the audio track for the full duration of the song. Until I figured this out, it was driving me crazy. I'd often sync the first time through a repeated section, but it would be out of sync of the second (or third) time through the repeat. If I'd then sync the second time through, I would "break" the synchronization that I had done on the first time through that section. I finally figured out I could not use repeated sections in the score unless the audio track was played by the musician at a perfectly matched tempo on each pass of any repeated section. Again, the solution was to live with a "longer score" and simply not repeat any sections within the score... write out the score as one continuous event, just like the audio track is one continuous event. You're welcome. 😋

Thanks for your video. Is there a way to change the direction of the slur in the score (not tab)? I need the slur to show from above instead of below because it is clashing with the notes and unclear to read. I've looked everywhere in the stylesheet and can't find anything. It's driving me crazy. Thanks!

Cant believe there is not a simple way of adding multiple bars... Amazing...
@DeutschlandGuy7 ай бұрын
There actually is an easy way to add multiple bars. That is, use the keyboard shortcut control-insert to add bars, instead of using the menu to insert bars. Let's say, for example, that you want to add 5 bars. 1. Click on the score where you want to add the bars. 2. Press control-insert rapidly 5 times and you will have 5 new bars. It probably takes less than one second to add those 5 bars. You're welcome. 😄

Suggestion : In next update can you add a function via which rhythm proportion affects while in multitrack view as well . Currently Rhythm proportion option only works when you are viewing a single track. In multi track view it stops working.

Hi, I have a bass score where most of the fingering go from the first fret to the 7th fret. How can I make Guitar Pro 8 to move the tab fingering to a higher location on the fretboard, without changing the standard notation? . Thanks

Does anyone know how to synchronize a song in GP8 if there is a change in BPM? In Maneskin - Beggin the song starts very slow (I think it was 50) and then goes up to 134bpm. Even though in the tabs I change the backing track stays at 50bpm for the whole song 😓

In Adjust The Sound Of Each Note, I take it individual notes can be selected and adjusted? I have noticed that, for some odd reason, some fingerpicked guitar notes almost sound "dead" where those notes occur. It would be great to boost the volume of those notes to make them more audible. What is the procedure for this? Thanks!

Drums question, unrelated sort of, but can anyone more proficient with Drums help me understand the difference between High Floor Tom, Low Floor Tom and Very Low Tom. It's quite confusing in GP. Apart from a slight pitch change it's hard to understand visually which drum kit part they are suppose to be... In a standard Drum Rock kit, which Guitar Pro Toms would be the more accurate normal Floor Tom? Thanks!

If I have 2 tracks, say Guitar & Bass. The Guitar starts at Bar 1 & the Bass at Bar 4. How do I show on the Bass track, the first 3 bars as 1 bar like this |---3---| ? I have seen this in tablature books & on websites. Is it possible in Guitar Pro 8?

Hey, hello I'm having a problem, I used to copy and paste with (ctrl+c and ctrl+v) bars with rests but with a chord in it. But I had to re-install windows and now every time I use ctrl+c and ctrl+v to do that it does not copy the chord and I have to use the special paste feature but it is super slow doing that bar by bar... I don't remember what I did to make it work the last time, can you help me??

No, The only software that offers that (as far I know) is Photo Score by Avid, But it's not perfect, you have to go through each note and find the errors, but it takes longer than just writing it yourself.

This feature is not available but you can import many types of files like MIDI files for instance. You can also use a MIDI instrument to enter notes into Guitar Pro.

Great video. Thanks David. I was just wondering if it is possible to repeat all instruments accept one. I want to do transcribe my solo into my score but the rhythm is repeated by the repeat sign x4. Is there a way to keep the repeat for the other instruments but at the same time allowing me to transcribe the whole solo without repeating the lead guitar[solo] section?
