Crazy thought: Why don’t Pokémon that are gifted (Lapras, Eevee, Porygon...etc) receive an EXP Boost in battle? You’re not the original trainer that caught them. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I don't know. I think the reason they added in the EXP boost was so you can't trade in a perfectly IV bred (or hacked) pokémon from a different game and then absolutely cruise through everything. The EXP boost essentially just complements the badge mechanics in this way.

5:15 I assumed that the Mewtwoites existed forever, but had no effect on any Pokémon. But Mewtwo’s clone DNA made it compatible somehow. I think the megastones weren’t created specifically for certain Pokémon, they’re just compatible with their respective mons. Then they were given the appropriate names.

The gsball was for the scrapped event. Apparently, while the event itself worked, the way to "legally hack" the gsball in the game did not, and with no way to fix it, it went under. The problem is that they already were promoting the damn thing!

I've had an idea for the voltorb mystery for a while now. It's probably a rotom that was interested in the pokeballs and possessed one. When a rotom has possessed a machine it can still use its functions. I theorize that the rotom accidentally sealed itself using the capture mechanic of the ball. It's angry because it's trapped :(

I think voltorbs and electrodes are pokemon that were not cared about by their trainers. The trainer never let it out of its pokeball for so long that it was sealed. That's why they use explosion and screech, so they could get out or someone else could get them out.

In the early games, it is said that you need 8 medals to fight the league, but it is never exressivelly said they have to be from the same region (and here, my headcanon where gym leaders have different pokemon set up depending on how many medals the opponent already have); In the anime, there are secondary leagues that gives medal, like the ones from the orange isles, but aside from that """" recent"""" episode where gary decide to retire from fighting, the thing is never explored in more than passing

So, I tend to notice a bit of a trend with some of these videos where there's a mystery in the games/anime. Like they'll take things either out of context or not remember part or parts of the series. For example, I've seen a few 'mysteries' as to what Gary picked as his starter. Which it was revealed when Ash and Gary fought in the Johto league silver conference, that it was Squirtle. Anyways, in this, the mystery about the shiny gyarados (hope I spelled that right). There are two things that are against the "Shiny Pokemon are just pokemon that retain their previous evolution's color palette" the first comes from the anime in question, in it when they asked why it was red initially, the science guy said that he wasn't sure and offered up the possibility that it was because it simply kept its same color palette from the its magikarp state. Granted it was mentioned a time or two after that but it was more likely him just offering an explanation, or the one guy rolling with what the science guy told him. So, it was just a theory that, that is why it was red. The other thing going against it, is that it's in the anime. The anime isn't canon with the games. (If it were you could use water gun on a ground type so you can do damage with electric type moves :P ). As for the GS ball, it's not really a mystery any more. In an interview it was stated that it was supposed to have Celebi inside it, which was supposed to follow/join Ash for his Johto Journey. But the movie came out which caused them to change their mind (to simplify that part). Which, it is still possible that it could still canonically have a celebi in it... after all the Celebi from the movie was from Samuel Oak's timeline.

150 years to the time in which the world of Pokémon the tower in Ectuteak city was burned down mysteriously. This tower was called the Brass Tower. After the events of Brass Tower burning, it was later named The Burned Tower. It was said that the legendary beast, Lugia, used to preach there. However, once the Brass Tower burned, lugia fled to live in the Whirl Islands. Ho-oh, that lived in the Bell Tower nearby, flew away after the event, In search of a Pure-hearted trainer. While this tower burned, it was said that three unnamed Pokémon were to have died within the tower. No one knows what Pokémon they were, however. After Ho-oh left to search for a trainer, it returned briefly to revive these three Pokémon, once the fire was put out. These Pokémon know as Entei, Raikou, and Suicune, were revived. It was then destined for them to speed across the land since their revival. What if these three Pokemon was in fact the three evolution of eevee’s Jolteon, Flareon, and Vaporeon to proven more of this fact to be true the three legendary dogs were given abilities that is the same as the evolutions which is volt asorb, flash fire, water asorb all same abilities as the three evolution of eevee.

A trainer only needs to obtain 8 badges from gyms officially registered with the Indigo plateau. They touch on this in the first season where one place the crew stumbles on is trying to get themselves trained up to register as an official gym. Cerulean Gym was also risking its status when they stopped having valid pokemon for battle which is why Misty returned. The show chooses the gyms we see because it ties closely to the games. Another important note is that there are way too many contenders for the league in the anime for how some of the gyms were. Cinnabar island isn't found by very many challengers, and Giovanni was too powerful for a large majority of contenders

About the rare candies another weird fact is that shuckle used to be able to make them in the older games. It holds a berry that turns into berry juice but then if it continues to hold that it will eventually turn into a rare candy. Making shuckle a rare candy creator. Imagine a poucher stealing shuckle and berries to make rare candies to sell in bulk to evil organizations. Could be a fun plot point

The mystery of gs ball is solved in the manga it was created by some mask guy to catch celebi and to resist the time traveling it was made by the feathers of Ho oh and lugia that's why time traveling had no effect on that ball. G stands for Gold which is Ho oh and S stands for Silver which is lugia.

The GS Ball was meant to contain Celebi and would have played a part in the anime with time travel, but then they decided to scrap that idea and use it for the movie Pokemon 4Ever, which is why we never see the GS Ball again, even though it was hyped so much. It was a plot point that changed into a movie.

I don’t know if someone already touched on this, but we know from Pokemon Red and Blue that there are more than 8 gyms. Saffron city has TWO gyms, but only one of which is a League recognized gym. The other was a fighting gym where at the end, the leader says to you “please don’t take our badge. I’ll give you one of these rare Pokemon instead.”

To be honest, the GS ball isn't really mysterious. Its a ball made to catch time. Obviously Celebi. The ball is made from the feathers of Lugia and Ho-oh. In the manga, the seventh gym leader Pryce made this ball to catch Celebi to travel back in time to save his Lapras from dying. There you have it. :/

I assume there to be more than just 8 gyms in each region because you can’t expect every single trainer to go to the same exact gyms and win them, that would cause so much traffic, I think most trainers visit the gyms that’s on the way to their next destination or whichever are closest to them

If you look at Gary through the anime canon it's not an unsolved mystery for him to have more badges. It was pretty much confirmed that there were more gyms in the anime. There was also one Ash lost, the one with the OP Sandshrew.

They create balls out of apricorns in the game. They take time to make and are carved out to look like Pokeballs. The pokeball doesn't turn the Pokémon into matter, Pokémon are made of unstable energy anyway and an apricorn enables the Pokémon to react the way a pokeball does on it. Pokeballs were invented off the back of apricorn study because the red energy that Pokémon become in the game is a natural phenomenon that was utilised by technology.

The reason zigzagoon can learn surf is because traditionally the early rodent pokemon in all the games have a large move pool. For example all the way back in gen 1 rattatat could learn, bubble beam, thunder bolt, blizzard, toxic, dig. They've just kept this going. I suspect its a design choice since its very likely first time players will catch a rodent Pokémon since it will be the first or second pokemon you find. So if you are a 7 year old pokemon newb who just caught the first 6 pokemon you saw and stuck with them and are in need of a particular type for a gym battle, it is very likely your trusty rodent will have you covered.

Kindof a creepy theory, but maybe the Voltorb and Electrode of the Poke world are the result of the earliest attempts to create 'digitizing' Pokeballs? I mean, combining the computerized breakdown of matter or whatnot with a set, physical barrier item (Pokeball) must've taken ages, and maybe a few unlucky Pokemon got merged with the Pokeballs during the first attempts? The subsequent 'accidents' ended up still living as Pokemon, though, so they can now breed and battle just like any other- but their form and element are now permanently set in the digital zapping of a sentient Pokeball.

The Female Nidoran mystery is actually explained in a Japanese Pokedex that could be purchased at merch stores in the 90s that explains all the Pokedex entries of the first 151 Pokemon in far more detail than the games would allow, and has a very outdated and no longer Canon version of the Pokemon world (but clearly was where much of the canon was drawn from as well) Sort of a beta version of the lore. See, female Nidoran, for some reason, actually lose their ability to reproduce when they evolve into Nidorina, and it's actually part of the lore and not just a mechanical thing. They had decided this was the case before they had ever introduced gender into the games, back in the Japanese red and green versions.

Hey dobbs, I might have a theory for voltorb. The company that created pokeballs in one of their experiments tried to put a Pokemon in a prototype pokeball and they managed turn the Pokémon in a red light(laser ... whatever that is) and put it in the pokeball. But the Pokémon captured inside the body was still conscious. The Pokémon didn’t know how to get out and was very mad about it so it somehow manages to possess the pokeball and become one with it. The pokeball was a prototype after all so it was still missing something very important. So the voltorb was created. It might be that voltorb was a electric type Pokémon before it was captured and it’s because of his anger and desperate attempts to break out of the ball that he always explodes when he gets angry. What do you think?

Ryhdon can learn surf because of its innate ability to spin its body parts propelling itself through water. That also creates a gust of wind that allows him to use the move blizzard and creates friction that allows him to use fire blast

7:34 Rhydon can learn Surf because of the animal he's based of. A common thing on rhinos while growing up is learning how to swim, that's why Ryhorn CAN'T learn Surf until it evolves into Rhydon. Also, in Snorlax's case I just imagine it like how Mowgli from "The Jungle Book" rides on Baloo's belly, I mean, Snorlax is based on a bear after all. As for Tyranitar, Aggron and Zigzagoon? No idea, man. Edit: Btw, I think Tauros can learn Surf because you would be just riding on his back while it swims, pretty basic. Edit 2: 13:24 It was confirmed that the GS Ball contained Celebi inside it and that said fact was going to take part on a really important arc in the anime but due to the Celebi Movie, the arc was ultimately scrapped and the writers just hoped for everyone to forget about the GS Ball.
