Blowing up Megaton is a dumb decision even for an evil character. Megaton has far more quests, items, and NPCs than Tenpenny Tower, and it's much closer to the center of the map.

I think he attacks you like the rest of the legion if you do that. If you leave him alive yet kill Caesar he will be killed and dumped in a ravine with many others by Lanius in the ending slides. So once sold, he dies one way or another. Doubt he would be thankful after you sold him first... But freeing him doesnt seem like an option.

When you talk to Elijah in the vault, you'll be able to mention Veronica, which leads to him ranting about the NCR. You can agree with him, and that will lead to the game-over ending where you side with Elijah.

I disagree about the vault 101 decision. They all act like everything is your fault when the overseer is the one who initiated violence. Even amata acknowledged her dad was crazy but still hits you with the "you can never return" trope. Pretty sure her dad does the same thing so to me its like "alright, im the bad guy? Watch"

Most of the Vault still stubbornly blame you for 101's trouble, when it was clearly James who initiated it. It makes it very hard to want to help ungrateful people. And an option for killing Maxson and making it so Danse was accepted would be nice, as I think that's what the cut content was.

I don't think killing Danse is evil. I did it. Not because Maxson said so, but because Danse himself agrees with the order. He lived by the Brotherhood code and he would die by the Brotherhood code. No regrets. And I respect that. He wasn't a filthy synth, but an honourable man, an officer of the BoS who deserved and received an honourable end, dying as he lived, true to his principles.

Danse was having a meltdown. We lost one of our most loyal companions, friends, sometimes lover, all because Danse was a synth There's nothing honorable about dying for the sake of bigotry. All we get from it is Maxson saying "a soldier so loyal he would choose death before he would let a synth love, even though that synth was him" Maxson just left a synth rot in the open. Not even a burial, he just wanted to seem strong to the institute that loses basically nothing to send more to infiltrate the BOS. They aren't attached to their meat toasters and would just keep sending them, when the smart thing would be keeping Danse alive to have him help discover synths. Hellz they could use him as bait to lure in synths trying to reclaim him. I get why Maxson thought he should die, but he could have at least acknowledged the mans loyalty and he shits on it. Danse deserves better, and killing him for bigoted, short sighted reasons cannot be described as anything but evil. I get honoring last requests but thats not a very good reason to die.

And I also disagreed with the order and Maxson/Danse''s reasoning, however I think respecting Danse's wish was more important than what I thought of it. I did it for him, because that's what he wanted, out of respect for him, I didn't do it for Maxson. And it's better I do it, quickly and painlessly, instead of some BoS fanatic doing it who knows how. But is the BoS as a whole bigoted? I think they have a point about humans playing God and burning ourselves in the process. We're playing with fire and technology can have unintended side-effects. And creating synthetic humans does raise a hard question: where is the line between robot and human? Some techological possibilities are best left undeveloped/unexplored. PS: Only later did I discover that there was a possibility to convince him and Maxson to just drop this whole thing (now I always go with that).

1. Fallout New Vegas - Pick a side you'll back. Now have all the sub factions be against the winning side (the one you chose). I haven't tried this yet, but did sort of experience it when I did The Kings before ever deciding who I would back, and just wanted their quest over with. So I had them back House. Then when I tried the other sides, The Kings' endings were of course bad, but different depending who they backed vs who you backed. 2. Fallout 3 - Burn Harold alive. He of course won't go "quietly" lol. 3. Fallout New Vegas - Bring Cassidy to the McGraffs. 4. Fallout 1 & 2 - Become a Child Killer (Bethesda didn't make the original games, therefore children are not invulnerable). And it is by the far the worst possible choice you can make cause absolutely EVERYONE, including slaver factions will become immediately hostile and will always try to kill you on sight. Think of that choice as activating "Nightmare Mode" cause you're gonna have a seriously tough run after that.

I think siding with the Van Graffs is a bit more "reasonable" decision than most. They're by far the best source of energy weapons and energy weapons fixins, and anyone doing a dedicated Energy run is doing a disservice axing them, especially for the most meh companion in the game.

Like: Blowing up Megaton will let you live in the most luxurious place on the capital wasteland And destroying the Citadel instead of Adams AFB mobile base crawler lets you have the strongest revolver in the game

Only choice I made from these : Danse had to die, but NOT from my hand. For the sake of the storyline : I needed a proper incentive to side with the Institute once and for all, because things got blurred. Having Zealot Maxton execute Danse worked fine. (Only problem was I COULD NOT fail the speech check so I kind of had to step aside 😅 but still, my character sounded reluctant enough.) With that, I was done with the Brotherhood. Next hard step was dispatching the Railroad which ended in a 1v1 with Deacon in Sanctuary.

1. I did destroy Megaton once, I was new to the game and curious. Not worth it, still interesting to try. 2. I never done that, just because I didn’t want to, but had no idea what it would lead to, even if it is a logical consequence. 3. I mean I keep him alive, but neither feels like a good choice. Danse who lives and breathes BOS is now kicked out and a very sad boi. The lack of reaction from others is sad. I know that they see him basically as a toaster. Which should worry them how this “toaster” managed to befriend them and raise in rank. 4. Yeah I could never do that. 5. I have played a bit of FO3 but I could see some of my characters 6. Nah, framing the father isn’t that bad. But I would never sacrifice any of my companions! I spent way too much time keeping them alive (I only play on hardcore) But most of the time I just make the chef cry from childhood trauma until he leaves and I can handle the cooking. 7. I have wiped out the CoA and snitched of Arcadia, after taking Kasumo home. Never taken out the whole thing. 8. True, would never do that and I tried plenty of evil choices. 9. Haven’t done that, doubt I would 10. Sounds like something to try once. Just because 11. Sounds awful. 12. I could never do that to Arcade, I felt bad enough for the ending he got when I brought him with me to fight for NCR. 13. Some of my characters could do that, but most of them couldn’t. 14. A few characters maybe but most wouldn’t 15. Well I done that, then shot Bullet and brought Billy home.

i've blown up Megaton for an evil playthrough and regretted it in so many ways. for one thing, living in Tenpenny Tower sucks ASS, it's in the corner of the map while Megaton was practically at the center of it, way better Hub location. second, you miss out on so many Quests, including the Wasteland Survival Guide chain that gives you a Perk dependent on your responses to the experiments. third, you lose out on so many Caps, including Vendors by blowing up Megaton. no more selling Scrap and the Strength Bobblehead will get nuked, so if you had a plan to cap your Specials at 10, you're SOL. it's just so much MORE lucrative to kill everyone in Tenpenny Tower and sell what you dont want to keep, including those detestable Ghouls who betrayed my trust in my Good Guy runs... 1000 Caps for blowing Megaton at best, but i can make way more and keep the better hub.

You're still able to do the Wasteland Survival Guide quests so long as you started it before blowing up Megaton. But you could easily just do all the quests, grab the bobble head, kill everyone for XP, and steal anything you want before you blow it up. I always preferred TPT cuz it was like an oasis away from all the chaos in the Wasteland; especially if you get the Pre War room theme. I even do it on my very good karma playthroughs

Megaton is so useless as a town that the devs decided to keep Moira Brown alive as a ghoul just so you can finish her quest, because that's the ONLY thing the town has going for it. The only things you lose from Megaton is some vendors, but like all vendors in FO3, they're crap, so... well... Just go all Mad Stan on Megaton. There's no reason not to. Also, selling Arcade to Caesar is actually the best thing to do, because they're both insufferable, pompous tools who think themselves smarter than they really are. It's a match made in Hell, one full of badly spoken and understood Latin.

Blowing up Megaton (After doing the Questst there) is pretty Based, as is killing the Ghuls (they deserve it). Seeling Arcade Gannon is aswell, since the Legion brings Order. Ave true to Caesar.
