As an American, I personally use "cup" measurements 😆 but at least for liquid measuring cups, they usually have both the "cup" and the "ounce" measurements on either side.

America tried to convert to the Metric System in the early 70's and failed badly. But that is why we have 2-liter bottles of soda instead of gallons, but you can buy a half-pint of heavy cream.

Alex most stone cups or bowls should be sealed with a food safe sealant. If they are not sealed you can seal them yourself

The marble ‘lazy Susan’ condiment pots are for mustard or chutneys or any sauces for meats (mint, apple, horseradish, etc).

Yep! Have a similar, albeit less cool, set and we keep a chili paste (essentially sriracha) in one, and a mix of spices we put together that is good for sprinkling on things like pizzas, pastas, etc because they are the two things we use most.

stuff that you're not sure about where it's from, you could try taking a photo of it (on a plain background) and backwards image search. i used to work in an antique store/auction house and it was something i'd do to find the brand/ maker of stuff that didn't have any markings on it so we could price them accordingly.

Hey! Dan is wearing his shirt! Archie was a mood the entire video, I loved it 😂 the woah in slow mo was my favorite The goblets are Polished onyx stone wine goblets from the 1960s. You can drink wine out of them, the inside may dull a bit, but it shouldn’t stain it. Do not put it into the dishwasher, microwave oven, or use any chemicals on it, just clean it with a damp cloth. Also! I could see the hug mug having Green Tea (matcha) in it! Looks perfect for it!

for the peach jug, I have an idea on why it looks that way, do you have a place where you can go paint ceramics because I do, they are blank items you pay for the items they give you the glaze (paint) and you paint what ever you want on it, i can share on insta of the owl I did and tag you, but once your done you leave it there and once its been fired they call you and you go and pick up your finish piece to take home

I would use the stone goblets as drink cups. Probably not everyday. But for special occasions. Also the salt and pepper spinning thing is a lazy Suzanne at least here in America. I love it. You could add dried herbs to one side and sugar to the other. I have also loved this thriftmas series.. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I loved it!

The Mikasa “bird bowl” is from an entire set of dinnerware. It has long since been discontinued, like eighties/nineties, but look for “Mikasa Harmony”, and you can find matching stuff.

Another American here and I definitely use cups when measuring. Also my favorite item was the silver, glittery plate. It all looks so nice together though! Your ability to buy so many things from so many different places and make it look so cohesive is really amazing! Having Dan in the vid was a great idea, he seems just as excited as you about some of this stuff, lol.

The spinny marble thing tray is to sit at a table at dinner. Typically they are salt, pepper, parmesan cheese, and chilli flakes. It's a very common thing to have in an Italian household.
