Any bike lock with a rubber coated cable that I've ever encountered, can easily be cut using a cheap hatchet & a couple of good whacks. Many trespassing hunters have used them to "secure" their stands to trees on our property. Those cables are very weak!
@JasperJanssen5 жыл бұрын
They’re not so much weak as not *that* strong. They’re appropriately strong for the purpose, though.
@ThePSPJesus5 жыл бұрын
If you have some ass behind you and a strong lever you can twist these till failure but depending on what its locking up you will likely cause damage.

I had an older but similar one whose combination reset itself, presumably when I locked it up. Of course it was in winter at night, so that was fun to come back to. I fiddled with it for 5 minutes trying to tug-pick it to no avail (and of course nobody said anything nor called the cops, so thank you fellow residents for your concern). I resorted to grabbing the lock body with Leatherman tool pliers and twisting the other end hard. The lock body insert was made of cheap metal and it broke so easily, I wondered if I even needed the pliers.
@davidtorresocana5 жыл бұрын
May I suggest something? It takes me around 30 seconds to open a similar lock. In this kind of mechanisms, you may find the discs can move sidewise (towards the end that opens or where the biggest gap is) when they are in the true gate. Discs are under spring tension. So: Start with the disc closest to the opening side trying every letter and pulling it towards the opening side until you find it moves. Continue with the rest of the discs and you will find that, on the last disc, the entire stack moves and the lock is open Good channel. Keep up the good work

I can decide these with just my hands. It's all a case of holding it in a way to tension it horizontally by pushing away from you instead of towards you. Once you've picked the first binder, the tip of your right thumb fits in the gap and you can feel the movement as you get to each gate.

Just a noob question, so apologies. Can you only find the combination by going on 'binding order' (as shown), or can you create the tension and just go through dial 1, then dial 2, then dial 3, etc. Is finding the binding order important, or just speeds up the process?

The whole point of word locks like this is that random numbers are hard to remember, and words are a bit easier. Really, you could determine what words are possible on this lock (like RIDER) and try them all and you'll probably find it opens. If someone uses a random string of letters, they may as well buy the numeric version
@MrSonny61555 жыл бұрын
Using such a large screwdriver is rather cumbersome and much less inconspicuous than you could be. I suggest a smaller, shorter screwdriver. You can easily get shorter screwdrivers at the same thickness, would also make it easier to control and less likely to slip and stab yourself. Actually, the ideal case might be a simple "jacking" tool. Something like a reverse binder clip...

I'm going to offer some of what I feel is constructive criticism. While this lock probably does deserve a (junk) in the title Bill did a poor job of explaining why in the video. These types of reviewesce videos should probably assume that the person watching isn't knowledgeable about the product. Bill should probably explain that the chain is easily cut and that it is a known waypoint in this style of lock to those who may be unfamiliar with lock products.
