👍👍👍. I have no doubt you could bring it back to its former glory. But I don't think it would be worth the time, effort and cost. You have made the right decision. Thank you both.

Well it looks like we might have one coming up in the spring since we will probably do another cargo trailer build.

Very good decision. I do hope someone will let you know about one that's not so much work and money. Julie is looking so nicely. Good to see you. Stay safe you guys.

Hi Carmen, it was nice to actually see inside of one so we could get a feel for it , but i think we might just do another cargo trailer build so we could have it the way we want it, thanks for watching and take care.

Yeah too much work for us but maybe someone wouldn't mind fixing it up.

Kevin, you could do a year of videos on all the work that thing needs, flooring, new door, re figerglass the entire top, seems like every window leaked at some point, way too much work. Might as well spend the money up front on a nicer unit, your little trailer is beautiful.

Yeah i agree too much work for us, we really like our camper and try to keep it in good condition but wanted something just a little bigger.

Yea, a brand new 7 x 14 cargo trailer is currently $7600 in our area and would be easier to build out than fix something like this scamp. We did a 7 x 14 x 6 1/2ft hi cargo -> camper 4 years ago with full build out. Wound up 5300lbs fully loaded. 7ft wide is OK but I can't help but wonder about 8ft wide. We did a simple pole and tarp system that let's us deploy the tailgate (ramp style) as a sealed / weatherproof 6 x 6 bedroom giving us 7 x 20ft overall. 7 x 14 is a good size to get into the smaller campsites. Look forward to following you're journey on this!

We would like to do a 6x14 cargo trailer because my truck is just a toyota tacoma so i have to watch the weight doesn't get too heavy.

We viewers vote that you build a bigger camper using a larger cargo trailer....

Frank, we are kind of leaning that way on building another one , that way we can do what we want with it.

I would definitely pass on that one. You might also consider Casita, similar to the Scamp.

I bought a 1984 Burro very similar to the scamp. It had been somewhat restored had a salvage title got into it for 4500 took it across country from Georgia to Idaho and back through the lower south west I had visions of restoring it however it became a money pit and I sold it, my opinion if you are already familiar with converting our building travel Camper from cargo or travel trailers I would do that again. Also, the mounting of the air conditioner is the best for those fiberglass campers. I had one mount of all the top and they are very unstable and dangerous as they are not designed to hold them. At least the older ones aren’t. Stay Away!
