I clapped when I saw the INTJ. It's exactly how I imagined I would break up with someone. The black shirt, the calm demeanor, no crying, cutting to the chase, just getting your stuff and leaving. You as an actress captured that feeling of "This is so uncomfortable but let's get it over with." If it really is something that makes me sad I'm a musician I'll use that emotion in an instrumental piece. Well done, seriously. Also I've gotten to the point where I can recognise the personalities by the outfit.

If the partner is mentally- and emotionally-unstable, then you might get some unexpected emotions from the other party (I did…mine was a male Borderline, and despite not having had any ties to each other, he became a blubbering mess-20+ years later, I still don’t understand it, since his reaction wasn’t based on anything real. 😂)

I think this is one of the instances where it may be a bit far on the stereotype. INTJ’s DO have emotions and we’re not just robots unaffected by our feelings and those of others around us. Lacking in social/emotional intelligence isn’t a trait we should embrace. I think that INFJ is also a pretty accurate option (Ni projecting into the future and sensing the relationship won’t work out). Edit: all that being said, I do wonder if this is how I might come across in a breakup… I personally see myself as the INFP in a lot of these videos, and yet my friends tell me otherwise (blunt, intense, flat affect, etc), lol

52 yr old ISTP here . . . this made me think about all the breakups in my past. Only 3 really stood out. the 1st, many moons ago when I was 19, I thought she was the one, I was totally in love with her. One day, out of the blue she said, "I'm heading up to Penn State tonight to be with this guy I met - we're done. Sorry. Maybe you can meet someone else." Next, ironically while I was a student up at Penn State, the 2nd girl I thought was the one, out of the blue, "I'm breaking up with you, this isn't working out, bye." Finally, the worst one - on Valentine's Day I got a letter from a lawyer informing me my wife was divorcing me (we were separated at the time). Happy effing Valentine's Day, lol. Only with 1 did I actually cry, lol. (yes ISTPs do have feelings, reluctantly). After all, just move on, what else can you do? lol

On valentines? HAHA thats just brutal. I have a hardcore belief that you will never truly forget your first love. Dating is so strange to me. Some people are practically speed running it, getting a taste of different flavors to find what they like, while others take the time to start platonically and build it from there. Or just take it more seriously in general. When the opposites meet it can definitely hurt when you thought you had something going on.

I swear the first time I was suspected as an INTJ by a friend that likes MBTI was when I told her I broke up with my ex (we were allegedly high school sweethearts) and it was very businesslike, no crying, no feelings just straight to the point. I was more sad for having paid lunch, lost her as a very intellectual and wise friend than the breakup itself to be honest...

INTP here, and I see the ENTJ clearly knows how to soften the blow of a breakup. 🍦🍫 Also, I still adore the name "Hildegard." 😊 Now-ex-wife divorced me years ago, and it nearly killed me... then she'd text me with her delusional musings every six to twelve months for the first six or seven years, despite me responding repeatedly and emphatically that I didn't want any contact with her and to leave me alone. The only things worse than a breakup are a prolonged breakup and being in a miserable relationship.

I believe this shiz is called boundaries. I wasn’t into therapy speaking newfangled stuff but turns out it is key and you introverts should be more into figuring them out and how to assert them and stuff. It ain’t easy or fun. So starting with someone rational on first place probably would’ve been a good idea - like someone who knows the definition of an ex and doesn’t use them for emotional labor. That stands for you too. Again if you have to be in touch with your ex because of children hats off. But otherwise you don’t need to accommodate any of their demands on you after the relationship is over and even I know that bro (i’m a girl but who cares guys are still demanding this kind of drama from me and the only way to stop it is to just absolutely NOT engage… There will always be demand. Maybe that’s because I’m female but I’d like to think that you don’t want to demand that isn’t for you anyway so it doesn’t matter how frequent it’s available. Hth

Yeah I think INTPs aren't generally known for breaking up first with people (at least the INTP men I know are known for being broken up on and they aren't generally known for doing the breaking up). However perhaps because INTPs are laid back behind the scenes types who can be unironically empathetic letting people tell them all their emotional baggage and problems (even if it makes us uncomfortable) the person starts to miss certain aspects about the intp which means the person breaking up with them contacts them to further unload on to the INTP. They then get surprised when an INTP becomes aggressive telling them to leave them alone lol. On top of that it is hard if they continue to try as our Si tertiary replays the past over and over in our minds and the person isn't letting us get over it and move on.

I will say (ENFP) that the only way I've ever successfully broken up with someone is by being mad about them disrespecting some vital aspect of my spirit--and by bringing some sass to the equation, even if I kept that part from actually surfacing. It was a brittle armor against the empathy, the guilt over throwing away a perfectly valuable person, and the deep desire to make it work against the odds. The part where ENFP then started slipping off into a tangent is only too real. The instinct to talk and connect can totally sidetrack/undermine what should be a clear-cut goodbye.

I’m an absolutely not mystyped as enfp entp and I only wished I could be as decisive or succinct as “myself” here. But I’d totally be more like the enfp here. I have a surprisingly possible committed romantic relationship history and don’t dump serious ones often or lightly- but over my (not so short) life I seem to have vacillated between enfp, intp and oddly even entj here… Sure I rejected people with quips - but not breakups really Maybe this just exemplifies to say as a fellow Ne-dom I relate but we also don’t have the connection to the Fi-heavy moment the way others probably feel, pre-detached in our Ti purity …. We like this, we can manage feelings but it Fi-heaviness and ensuing irrationally really throws off an entp from their usual cool in romantic matters… it’s almost an identity issue not to love or at least commit in ways that limit our freedoms - yet we value and seek out connection and are our best selves in (healthy) relationships… autonomy as a value to make congruent with partnership isn’t easy. Sorry for auto corrects used voice dictation and did not have more time to correct it all

That's attachment style, not the type. If ISTPs are the ones breaking up, they already decided and thought it through. It could just be that they hope they can stay friends after a few months passed. PS: No idea about the milk thingy, they will just tell you directly and stay to try to soften their exs feelings, or more likely just tell them the reasons for the breakup. Yeah, INFJ is definitely correct. I often debate whether or not I should introduce myself to someone by running these scenarios in my head based on the existing knowledge of how the other person is like and what outcomes could come of it. My opportunity most often slips away before I get a chance to say anything because I spend so long running through the perfect scenario so I can anticipate everything that may happen. So when it comes to breaking up with someone, I do imagine already knowing where we're headed by running these simulations. Though, I would find it much harder to break up with someone because it feels mean, rude, like I'm hurting them. I don't want to hurt anyone.

Break up is one of those events where I think feelers are absolutely important to ensure that my message is conveyed to the partner and the dynamic is handled properly. As an INTP I approve of the idea used by the INTP in the video. I'm gonna use that if I have to break up with someone given someone must be interested to date a shut-in like me in the first place. But a good utility of a Feeler for sure. I'll probably just drown in Wikipedia pages on the psychological effects of breaking up unable to take action in the first place

Your portrayal of the ISFP was very interesting to me. I’ve never done this but I could completely understand feeling that way. C.S. Joseph says the Wayfarers (ESFP, ISFP, INTJ, and ENTJ) are the most likely to cheat on their mate or I guess in this case leave them for somebody else. Because of their combination of Fi and Se it can give them an outlook of “I like what I see and I want it right now”. I’ve started to notice that you can even hear this in the music of these types of artists. They will often sing about leaving their mate for somebody else, or your man doesn’t have to know. Ex: Adele (ENTJ maybe?)“Rumor Has It”, ‘Rumor has it he’s the one I’m leaving you for’. Billie Eillish (ISFP) “Bad Guy” “You said she’s scared of me? I don’t see what she sees maybe it’s cuz I’m wearing your cologne “ (IMO it’s got that, I’ll steel your man energy). I’m an ISFP and my husband said he worries that one day I run off and start a new family with someone else which I assured him would never do but I could understand why he feels that way. ISFPs do give off the spontaneous just into stuff vibes. 1:52

And yes, I recall CS Joseph mentioning that and I started to wonder if I am actually an ISFP, but I got typed and turns out i was types as ISFP. I was married and was super loyal and wouldn't even look at anyone in that way, because I felt it was a form of disloyalty. But my ex certainly cheated on me, and it's been 15 years since and I have chosen to remain single. So, I guess the case is maybe, what you value & because of that the way we approach relationships can vary. 🤔

I actually relate to the ESTJ here which only happens occasionally. My mom and I have had heated discussions about how she washes dishes, we have a perfectly good dishwasher and she'll use it but also hand wash some, which is fine if she cleaned them as well as the dishwasher does, but she doesn't. I lived at home for a year and she got offended if I finished cleaning the dishes that she washed, or if I'll show her a dish that was dirty. She's said that she knows how to wash dishes because she's been doing it for a long time, and also said that she doesn't understand why I'm so concerned with them being clean. Which doesn't make any sense. Feels good to get that off my chest :) I generally don't get in those types of arguments because it doesn't do any good or usually doesn't concern me

As an infj that's true, I calculated all possible outcomes, outweigh the good and bad, based on current knowledge, add the nuances that could happened, I conclude at the very end you will not make me happy, so while we're only seeing each other for 3 months & (at the end of it.. Weighing my options) after texting for a year (was contemplating if I should give a chance, so I waited & texted them for a year, to be polite & to weigh my decisions). Finally I've come to a decision that you can't bring me happiness & I can live life 100% without you. True, my feelings aren't even as important by then since pain is inevitable, why run from pain? Confront pain with truth. I truly love you but I don't need you. Why live a sad life? There's no point of a relationship if at the end there's only sadness.

Yeah, I was like " I wouldn't be in a relationship where I have to break up like this", cause I don't date because of dating, if I date someone it means that person is already valuable to me, so I, at least would think carefully about what to say, cause I know I can be somehow cold and hurt them.

There were three scenes where I thought it might be the ISTP: INTJ, ESTP & INTP. But actually there was none where I personally completely relate to. I've learned to ask for my stuff back (in an inconspicuous way) before I have what I call my " first warning" conversation, so by the time they invariably don't listen to my warnings (I give SEVERAL, which are several more than I should) I have my stuff and I can just bounce out. I only do what Kristin did as the INTJ IF I wasn't able to get my stuff back 🤣😂🤣 during the warning phase.

As an INTJ, I was pleasantly surprised & delighted to watch the entirety of the video, even though the stereotype says that we leave immediately after our part is done. To some extent, that "I must watch it till the last second of this one" is also an active rebel against the practice of creators putting INTJs last, to force us to watch the whole thing. In such cases, I would _only_ watch the end. You reap what you sow. Not saying you have to put INTJs first or prioritize in anyway... randomize/order anyway reasonable way you want. But if you design (order) specifically to manipulate us, we WILL game the system, optimizing ourselves to negate/deny what you want.

I was dating someone I've since typed INTP, and we had this ENTJ "friend" in our group hang etc, and the ENTJ totally spoke for him in telling me that he was in love with her, but that she already had a boyfriend. Luckily that gave me the strength to be ok with breaking it off with him later when we tried reconnecting. I disagree - not even the most Fe-heavy entp will put a performative relationship over truth We are done means we are done! I reckon we are actually super final if we decided. After all we don’t like to make conclusive or irreversible decisions. If we broke up with you we probably are done so deeply that we are already Halfway grieved. (Sorry but we likely tried to reach in other ways before we made the ultimate decision to give up on this…) If you “don’t know” or it’s vague… could be the match or the timing but does it matter - don’t wait too long as We are gonna be done with you soon enough if not already How simple is this? This is an Ne-dom. If they lift you they already exhausted every friggin possibility even in their imagination to make it work. And you Dare to think our conclusion might be not final? I would find that you might find us more rigid than even all the *TJs!! Simply because we would’ve actually given the thought from all angles before giving up on some thing we had already committed to.. Sometimes people understand the “P” function to mean it just means chaos for its own sake. If you think about what’s the value that is serving, even if it’s not always conscious to the entp, you can figure out that if they came to the point of breaking up with you you better take it seriously (and don’t stalk them neither, I never tolerate that stuff and I get them a lot after I set boundaries. I have very limited tolerance with anyone not respecting logic OR my autonomy. Some sort of ex coming into my face when I am done with them flies in the face of both and don’t expect anything nice. I have nothing to do with those joker narcissists psychopath type of morals and a woman over 40. Way I see it all of this is self respect. It’s neither rocket science and it’s also heart matters so if I could learn it with my thick thinker head, You guys should figure out how to take no for an answer and take rejection and figure out how to do something with that you know maybe consider growing and what not instead of pursuing someone who said no. When I say no to someone I’m done with them. Forever. Don’t think about them what’s the point.

Also, after seeing that "MBTI types as songs" video, did my own version with instrumental/non-lyrics ones. I listen to lots of computer game/movie soundtracks/random youtube instrumental musicians, though I ended up using just a few groups for this. These capture a mood rather than express things because no lyrics obviously. ENTJ: Technologique Park-Orbital kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWW4dnukiN59p9E -This inspired the idea. Feels like its pushing forward, intense, kind of weird. ENFJ; Sunlight-machinimasound kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqLQoaujp5iLb5I. Or Garden of Seborhin-Guild Wars soundtrack kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGiTZX2wptdoerM -Mix of uplifting and serious feeling. Matches a lot of ENFJ's I know about, who combine intensity and friendliness. ESFJ: Ballad of Ice and Snow-Guild Wars Soundtrack. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYern4SsfdFnoNk -For similar types, I picked pairs that sound similar in some way. This one is more relaxed than ENFJ, but still feels like its moving forward and friendly. ENTJ: Haunted Ruins-Guild Wars soundtrack. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJy9p6Cli7ODnJY -Vaguely similar rhythym and pushing towards a goal feeling as the ENTJ, but more conventional, just kind of seems to fit ESTJ better in a hard to explain way. ENTP: Neuro Rhythym-machinimasound. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3iclGSCoqprqsU -It's not the "let's explore the metaverse" music, but its damn close. :) I had to listen to both to see if they were different. ENFP: Gravastar-hybrid kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpDPdpuQqMaqpsk or Resplendent Makuun-Guild Wars soundtrack kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXWsY6GCiNKsrs0 -I had a hard time finding obvious "this sound like an ENFP" stuff, so picked ones similar to other types. Gravastar sounds kind of like Neuro rhythym, but slightly more wide open exploration. Resplendent Makuun is from the same area as the ENFJ one, but looser and more excited about things. Fits well enough. ESTP: Visible Noise-Hybrid kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqPQgploqKeSeKM -Dance Party music for the ES-P types. What else could it be. :) I found another one that works better for ESFP, so ESTP gets this one. ESFP: Stringy Acid-Orbital kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWWtZZqtj9mkbrc -This one sounds more fun and excited, which seems to fit ESFP better. Yes, I like simple decisions like that. INTJ: We are in control-Hybrid kzbin.info/www/bejne/nInde6GporGFhrc -Sounds calmer/lower volume, but still pushing towards something. Seemed to fit INTJ well. INFJ: Out there somewhere 2-Orbital kzbin.info/www/bejne/foOplp9oitmsn6c -It sounds kind of like the INTJ one, but somehow friendlier. I wanted something shorter like most of the other ones are, but this one just seemed to fit really well. ISTJ: Sulfurous Wastes-Guild wars Soundtrack kzbin.info/www/bejne/faaufqiAqrJ2bZI -It's from the same in game area as the ESTJ one, but more watchful/"something is coming" than pushing forward. Seemed to match the ISTJ idea of looking out for danger/keeping things steady. A lot of this is feel, admittedly, so there won't be long explanations. Mostly based on people I know who seem to fit the types. ISFJ: Guardian Sunspears-Guild Wars Soundtrack kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmeVm3efqbyrfaM -Probably the calmest and simplest of anything on this list. Gives off that friendly, stable, everyone is going normal feeling that ISFJ's seem to like. INTP: Strategy-inception recording sessions kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5fOmIWJest8Y5o -The perfect music for a mathematician or philosopher or researcher at work doing something on their own. Seems to fit that stereotypical INTP in action with their nose in a book putting something together. -The inception recording sessions are different from the soundtrack. They are straight movie music, listening to it is like listening to the movie with just the music. This particular one is what plays when the team is fully assembled until Ariadne looks into Cobb's dream, including building the dreams, discussions with Saito, figuring out how to incept Saito, setting up the kicks, etc. INFP: Halcyon On + on -Orbital kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIeQmYadgZaFbZY -Might just be all the plants and images in the video, but this seems to fit INFP a bit better than some others. ISFP: Savannah dusk-Machinimasound kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWivfKtum7p9mJY -Went for similar ones between ISFP and INFP, and this is another relatively calm song. I don't remember the exact logic for how I picked which of them went with which type. ISTP: Mission impossible theme, original 1960's show kzbin.info/www/bejne/rajTiYikZ8l5a8U -Yes, those big Tom Cruise movies originally came from a ~50 year old TV show. This one was effectively a series of caper/con movies, as the team used cleverness trickery and knowing how the targets would react to get whatever they were after, plus a few gadgets. Is a lot of fun, if you want to watch. -It's low volume and low key in a way, but still has lots of action, seems to match the "doesn't care too much, but likes to do stuff" ISTP. -I might want to add another one, since this is pretty short. Will do for now.
