I can relate. Our creativity is a product of our understanding, like figuring out a formula/algorithm. I read this comment and wanted to sum up my own life and interests but god if it isn't tiring to sum it all up, there's so much I was always interested in dancing and singing, and my relation many fields in art. I read so much that I had to be physically pulled away from books, and I gave myself myopia. I learnt a form of Indian classical music and to play the harmonium, a form of Indian classical dance for 2 years and earned a junior diploma, and art for 5 years and earned a senior diploma. English wasn't my parents' first language, but I wanted that fact about me indiscernible. I picked up writing essays, stories, and poems pretty soon. And to nobody's surprise, I excelled in debates. Wasn't a big fan of sports in the beginning to I stuck to Chess in P.E., and even participated competitively. By high school I discovered football (or soccer, as you Americans call it). All in all, my entire school life was a plethora of winning dance, singing, drawing and painting, chess, football, essay, poem, extempore, debate, and other competitions, performing twice a year at a major festival in my city with a citywide audience, and somehow still topping class. I think I even won a radio jockey competition two years in a row. Because I like learning new things, I struggled with the last two years of high school a lot. I was in a junior college that focusses only on college entrance tests. With the pandemic, no extra curriculars to participate in, and the difficulty in studies amped up to a 50 (for reference, I studied less than an hour a week at home until 10th grade. Listening to class was enough. I study 4-6 hours a day now, and that is only because I cannot push myself for more), I lost interest very soon, to the point where I neglected classes for 2 years and only started studying again this year, but because I'm so late and I didn't attend classes either, things are more difficult for me than they ought to be. Regardless, because I like learning new things constantly, I made a whole new life for myself online in the pandemic. I discovered I was queer and became interested in horror, internet mysteries, and most surprising of all, gaming. I learnt the guitar shortly before I was forced to stop and focus on my studies. I learnt the theory for western music and dance. I could essentially fit in with any group of people and start talking like I was home, with how much ground I was covering. I was picking up on all sorts of things big and small, and the variance showed and still shows on my KZbin feed. We don't have the option of picking majors in my country, only to pick from a set of pre defined combination of majors. Since my college wasn't going to help with my desire to learn something new, I figured I'll have to do it myself. So I have a plan set out to learn of content creation, to be able to perfect my skills in my pre existing interests, to maybe start a KZbin channel because it seems to be the solution to my varied interests, to write a book, to compose songs, to choreograph and to just learn new things. Now that I did sketch it out, I realise why I didn't want to start in the first place. And I have an exam tomorrow, laziness and procrastination will be the end of me

ENTP I cannot exist without writing, every single day. In writing I combine understanding, interpretation, self expression, and self transformation. In my teens I experienced a “writing block” simply because I had not yet discovered the concepts I wanted to use. So I painted all the time. But the real point is that I can see anything as an opportunity for creativity, if I just look. I think though that in many ways others are way more creative than I am. For example, with my inferior SI and demon SE, I do not manage physical space very easily. I may be able to think, paint, understand, and write, but I am not sure if I could grow a garden or even plan the architecture of a building. There’s a myth about ENTP that we can’t focus. I can focus like anything. The problem is that I get so focused on one thing that I can let everything else hang for quite a while.

To explain it further, INFJ's can guess of what's going to happen next or even the future very well just by observing people (but ofc they're not always right, they just always assume things and guess a lot since they younger). As I being one of them, we like to categorize people by knowing their traits and this when I'm able to create an image of a specific person in my head perfectly on how they will feel, mood, react to certain things, etc. I hope this make sense.

It's funny because I worked with an ISFJ artist who was able to bring the comic that I as an INFP wrote to life, before she would base her drawings off of life experience and things she was familiar with, and is still aiming for being more of an artist starting her own webcomic etc, however, one of the problems she had with me is I wanted to take ideas further and further, which also I think went out of her comfort zone while I wanted to explore.

That’s just the notebooks and after I’ve tried to narrow it down. I feel you Tess. As a fellow ENTP I know exactly what you mean. At some point I just accepted the fact that I am a generator of ideas but not the implementer of those ideas. I am too curious about everything. I am a proud generalist, and not a specialist, even though I envy specialist in many ways, I always have to reassure myself of who I am. I heard someone once say that ENTPs are the ultimate generalist, which I thought was a pretty cool title to give us. That is why I try to keep it simple in my mind. I just completed a masters in counselling psychology, which is what my profession would be. However, I still need a platform to play with ideas, so I want to potentially start a podcast one day. @Audrey Howler True! I'm an INTP writing a story about an ISTP character who is faced with a problem for which there are no traditional, time-tested solutions already in place. So yes, he is desperate, and yes, he's responded to the crisis by getting creative. Your comment is spot-on! :)

I am an ISTP and i agree with the craftiness over artistry. I enjoy crafting, but i don't really feel like I'm creating; I'm re-creating something someone else did. I can easily draw/paint something i can see, but if i were to attempt to draw/paint something from my imagination i cant even put a mark down on paper. The only time my real creative juices start flowing is when there is a problem to solve and i can Macgyver a solution.
@ein_aaron-30314 жыл бұрын
@@scone1025My approach on art (istp) is very crafty, in a way that I usually take an idea that already exists, and try to twist/improve the original idea in order to make it more interesting. I do think istps are highly creative, because in my opinion creativity isn't a magical idea juice that certain people have in their brain since the day they were born, but rather the ability to work with already existing concepts and applying learned skills to create something "new". The combining of multiple existing concepts is what your imagination actually does when it creates something new. But maybe that's just how my istp brain works.

@@ein_aaron-3031 I did that when I was asked to write a lover letter once, god knows its difficult to come up with the type of writing famous love letters are known for but I found when looking up "good" love letters and poems and other such forms of writing you can map and create a system for producing that sort of writing. Identify the type of language being used, the key points being made, ways in which would be most effectively conveyed and induce the highest emotional impact and then add in the infinite variety of insider knowledge/bond with the recipient and then by finding similar ways of conveying from what was used as a source to make it an actual personal love letter and not a sleezy plagiarism.
@ein_aaron-30314 жыл бұрын
@@lavolpe8525 exactly! That's the same way I learn stuff. When I draw something I always look up reference material from other artists and deconstruct what makes their drawing look good. Then I apply that knowledge to my own next drawing and combining it with what I've already learned from other artists in the past. Of course I also have to know the theory aspects too, by watching tutorials etc. But that usually really drains a lot of nerve nd energy from me, since finding out about these things first hand by myself would be a lot more fun and I'd be able to remember the info that way easier too. (btw. congrats on that love letter. I can only imagine how painfull for a fellow istp it must be having to write something cheesy as that xD)

I’m an artistic intp. I find that my creativity manifests very weirdly and sporadically. Most of my art comes from emotions, which doesn’t seem like a very intp thing, but I’m not a robot and my Ti and lower Fe are kinda obvious. I also find myself drawing to show a scene, as opposed to showing an emotional state. I do find my style to be quite different from infps, though. My style can be cartoony or realistic or abstract, but my “sub-styles” seem to follow patterns/“rules”. I like to write sonnets because it’s the emotionality of poetry and self-expression, while also fitting it into a set of constraints, like a puzzle. My infp friend just pukes out words. I dunno. However, I do enjoy writing, painting, drawing, etc. from time to time. I think if I was given the opportunity to talk about anything I wanted, I'd talk about the layout of my room because it's things like aesthetics and design that I put my pride in. I hate my type for that reason. I don't think I go "in depth" with things as much as I would like to (I mean the conceptual world as opposed to the physical world.) I admire the NF's most for that reason.

I disagree, i think you are underestimating INTP's. True, creation has to serve a goal to some extent for us, but its just that we invent so much constantly in our heads that i dont think we take a backseat to infp's. They might be better at putting their feelings into their creation, but we are exeptionnally good at making our creations numerous annd incredibly complex if we want to, and we find reward in making a very complex set of ideas work together, and reach a coherent state. For example i am very much into writing stories, and where an infp might have an easier time writing what they want to write, there is just so much stuff to build for me. From worldbuilding, to the overall structure of the plot, to characters and their motives, little details that might play a massive role later on, foreshadowing (my favorite thing to do, and quite difficult to pull off). The whole challenge is to make the reader gasp and then look in awe at plot twists, only for them to realize later on that this was just a very coherent turn of events, and that it had been set up from the beginning. And of course while there is a goal for creation, most of my creative abilities are wasted as i forget about my many ideas. I swear, at least once a week i get a constant stream of ideas, ridiculous or not as i am trying to fall asleep. One of the reasons i have permanent dark circles around my eyes.

ENTJ here. To become a leader, you need to be creative and see multiple different possibilities and find a way to get the best result. I would say the actual creativity of most ENTJs is unrecognized, because we have a layer of abstract and logical thinking on top of it. Because it's easy for us to explain why something is the most logical solution, most people don't see that we first assume things and then use logical thinking excessively to find out if it works and makes sense. It's like that for me, maybe other ENTJs can relate.

I don’t usually comment on KZbin, but your perspective on psychology is really something that could (and should) be better spread in our society. Different people have different skills and is society’s role to help everybody reach their potential. First note: I disagree when you rank creativity and weight the capability of executing as a part of it. (Like the ESTJ, for example) The reason for that goes along with what I said before: in a healthy society, creative people will have a counterpart who execute it, and everyone’s potential will come forth. And to answer your question about ENTP’s (speaking as one) interests: the ability of connecting ideas and seemly unrelated fields is the root of our personality. I am an engineer, with worldwide cultural experience, guitar player, addicted to sports and video games, as a hobby I like to study economics and psychology (which leads me to being a subscriber to your channel for some time now). The funny thing about our thought pattern is the ease of connecting all of these. For example: I usually find excellent soccer analogies to explain things at work, as weird as it sounds like. ✌️

I have a goal that in 5 years I’ll move to the coast with me mum, we will build our house under our own terms but that was left to me, yes im going to follow certain basic rules, some of my mom request and some of my own, incorporating all that, mixing it requires a lot me ta gymnastics because most certainty what i have in mind might to be what my mom would absolutely want I’ll have to break down all of our ideas and see which can be functional, interactive/fun and a must. I am an istp who is also very creative. I find those characteristics mentioned the same as mine. But I doubt that we are one of the most creative people. You are an artist and you found that mastering the art of being an artist is to become creative. What differs us from most creative types is that we do it to solve problems and set goals. A very creative person would think that your work needs more and more in soulbreaking numbers, mostly for the FUN of it. It is absurd that a person would think like this for fun and not from sheer will and discipline but there are people meant just meant to be creative and thats just literally how they live their life.

This video strikes me as such a very NT biased depiction of creativity as something that is consciously and purposefully created. All the ISFP's I've known are extremely aesthetic and artistic, it's just that they're not as in tune with why they're making the decisions that they are. This is a combination of Fi and Ni creating a super focused and super personal style that they can't necessarily explain. That kind of intrinsic artistry is overlooked by NTs a lot imo, who can explain every creative decision they made, but have a hard time accessing the squishy undefinable bits of their soul.

ENTP here: I'd say creativity truly runs most aspects in my life, now that I think of it. Creativity is not only a drive, but something that comes naturally from within.

I am amazed at how accurate the piano analogy for ISTP is. I was literally thinking about that then you brought it up.

I'm an ISFP mistyped as INFP for years. We are more creative because we actually do it. INFPs are always talking about how creative they are, but usually never let it manifest in reality.

The top row is my whole family, me (INFP), brother (INTJ), mom (INTP), dad (INFJ) haha! And you're right. Everyone is pretty creative! I'm the only one who went off and chose an irrational writing career, but yay team creatives.

As an INFJish INTP, I match the creativity of INFPs and I actually have more personal deep understandings that can produce even more creativity.

That Was Spot On. I’m An ENTP. I Knew You Were Going To Chose Us. I Laughed Out Loud When You Did. LOL We Are The Deep Thinking Creators And Innovators. Creativity Isn’t Just Art Although I’m An Artist. Writer, Song Writer, I Play Multiple Instruments But I’m Famous For My Singing Voice. The Most Important Creativity Is Solving Huge Or Even Global Problems. I’m An Inventor That’s Has No Patents So I Agree With Your Criticism That We ENTP’s May Lack The Intensity To Follow Through Without Being Swept Off Our Feet By The Next Newest Idea. Love Your Show.

I am the one ESFP watching. I think we’re the most creative when it comes to how to turn any situation in to a fun experience for a everyone, or how to make a few dollars go a very long way. Perhaps a roadtrip? I’m also very creative when it comes to distracting myself from issues and responsibilities!
