ISTP here. Used to be like ISTP from the video, but once I was curious why people are so addictive to shopping, and I started trying to imagine the train of thought and feelings necessary to be like that, and now, though I don't buy anything, I usually use my newfound wish to buy all those things I could use in building tools as a motivator to get work done and make more money. Sadly, I'm too good at noticing that I will end up buying _everything_ if I give up to that wish, so I don't buy a thing eventually and just work. I think, something is messed up here, lol. It is strange how, once you understand a foreign urge, you start having those urges more than your native ones. It's just every time you _think_ about it, you _remember_ the feeling you discovered while trying to _imagine_ feeling like that, and you _start_ feeling it on your own. Does it happen to all ISTPs? What is it, anyway? Maybe that's a trick of some function we have or something? Anyone knows?

I spend hours going through which thing do I want more vs. which do I need more, which one is prettiest vs. functional vs. cost effective, how can I check the most boxes with this purchase to ensure maximum satisfaction, what is my value system regarding the nature of this purchase, should I forgo the purchase and consider investing the money in a less selfish pursuit, will the item be the correct specifications, and will it arrive timely and as listed? But really I want it all.

Then i do hours of painful research find out everything about it but end up knowing the entire history, manufacturing process, every function in detail and have read every review possible etc. At this point im really annoyed already because i often find out that in the pricerange i considered there are just mediocre options, so i bump up my pricerange. Yet i still get stuck on this point the process and cant decide what to take, so i decide to postpone buying the thing a few weeks more. If i return to buying it (sometimes i just think "ah i dont need it afterall i think") i often then go to the default option afterall feeling really stupid about it but feel so relieved like i just marched from the shire to mordor and took a shit and came at the same time. ISTJ here. I just finished making a grocery list. After I made it, I went through the sales fliers and wrote down the sale prices of anything from my list and where the item is on sale. I really hate paying full price. 😂
