The Specialized store in my country has a discount for this bike right now, wanted to buy it for my 3 and a half year old, and after watching this video I am very pleased with the bike and I will definitely buy it for him. Thank you for this review!

This helped me decide on getting the same bike for my son. We're all the way over in the United States but have family in Matamata. Was a little surprising to see a top search result for this bike coming from a familiar place, keep it up, and can't wait to visit NZ when it's safe again!

Hey @earl thanks for the love mate, I’m stoked this video helped you pick one of these up for your son 👍 I’m about an hour away from Matamata, just over the hill. See you in NZ soon. ✌️

Very good review. THANKYOU SO MUCH for showing the training wheels. We got the bike second hand and I got the training wheels separately but they didnt come with directions so I assumed the star nut threaded into the axle. Couldnt find any directions on the internet until your vid.

Is the costal brake ok? Isn t it difficult to set the pedal in position? Since he can t move the pedal backwards
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy9 ай бұрын
The coaster brake is perfectly fine for this application.

My son is 4 and he’s not that tall to sit on the seat and both his feet on the floor. Is that how you should measure it
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hi Taz, that’s one way to measure up a kids bike. I’m pretty sure my son had trouble touching the ground when he first had the bike, but the trainer wheels kept him upright.

How much does it weights. Do you think that this is a heavy kids bike?
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy Жыл бұрын
Hey Jast, not 100% on the weight sorry bud. The bike is totally manageable for a wee rider. The way I look at it, if a bike is a little heavier, it helps your kiddo become a stronger rider 🙌🏼

My son has out grown his hotrock. What size would you recommend as he is 104cm tall aged 3.5
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
Depending on his level of confidence on a bike, he could rock a 16” Riprock, or potentially stretch into a 20” Riprock coaster. My son moved up to a 20” when he was 5 & about 118cm tall. Stand over and reach are the main considerations. Overextending his arms on a bike that’s too big is the bigger of the two concerns. Hope this helps.

Does this bike have a coaster brake on the rear wheel?Good detailed and informative video btw
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hi David, yup - this has the coaster brake, as well as the front hand / rim brake. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Hi Dave. Thanks for the great review. You mention some people find this bike a bit heavy. Could you confirm its weight, please? My son weight is 15,5 kg and I am not sure what is an excessive one. Thanks for your help. Josema
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hi Josema, this bike weighs 10kg with the training wheels fitted. I find the bike is an acceptable weight, and will help in forming a kiddo into a strong rider. Hope this helps!

@@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuythat s strange. 10kg for an alloy bike! Normaly a 16” bike made of alloy weights about 6-7kg
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy9 ай бұрын
@gabytro thanks for commenting 👍🏼 A slightly heavier and more robust bike, builds a stronger rider.

Hi . Great video by the wsybmy son has just outgrown his Specialised balance bike . He is 116cm tall and inside leg of 51 cm . Would you get Jett 16 or Hotrock 16 .
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
I’d probably go with the Riprock if you can still get one, or a Jett. Both are awesome!
@michaelbower19693 жыл бұрын
@@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy thank you for taking the time to reply. I think we will go for the Jett as the versatility and looks like a real bike

Hi, nice video, I'm considering this bike for my son. Quick question, how tall was your kid when you decided to upgrade. My son i 110cm tall and I'm wondering of the 16'' won't be to small for him! Thanks for your great content!
@DavidLashlieThatBikeGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hey @przybArts my son was about 120cm tall when I put him up to the next size bike. I found he could stand over & ride the 20” Riprock coaster from around 115cm. I’d head to the shop & size your wee guy up. Ensure he isn’t reaching too far, if you put him on the 20” instead - you want him to maintain control of the steering! You’ll know pretty quick which will be right for him 👍
