I'd buy these lands in a heartbeat, but they are just too far from a hospital in case of an emergency. It's literally a life and death problem.

If you have 160 acres & plan on living there, you are going to need a backhoe or other equipment anyway so you can clear your own road.

How can you be so sure? @Erin-Thor
@Erin-Thor2 күн бұрын
@@vv-mc7io - I can’t, but most paved roads are plowed in the winter unless there’s serious snow (think of the pass in glacier national parks 20‘-30’). After he mentioned the road, he also said there was another entrance, park roads or fire roads? That might be as you feared. I’ve known families that left their truck near the road, and snowmobiled to their home. LOL!

I wouldn't live in Sprague or Bly Oregon again for nothing, Population of Bly 207 & Sprague river 80. Should tell you something. Both too far away from everything. It works out fine if you only drive to town (Klamath) once in a while & stock up for winter, the road to klamath during winter is a bit dangerous, very windy/slippery, if you have kids they will hate being on the bus for an hour to go to Chiloquin school, there are No jobs, Maybe if I did online work or planned to be a rancher/farmer and knew the gov wasn't trying to close down all ranches & farms in central Or. but they are. So forget it.

@Erin-Thor2 күн бұрын
While anything is possible, most rivers and creeks expand a little during heavy rain or snow melt, but seldom flood. The exception would be beavers damming it up, which might create a worst case scenario. Add to that in many states you can’t remove a beaver dam or harm the beavers.

For anyone interested I'd highly recommend that they look into the BLM's interaction with private property owners in Eastern Oregon, e.g. the Hammond family as well as others.

Here in douglas county nobody tells me whayt i can or cant do on my land. BLM could kiss my ass if they want
@weirdshibainu23 сағат бұрын
How so?
@terryevans19766 сағат бұрын
@@weirdshibainu The BLM decided they wanted to own all of the properties in the area and started harassing owners. The Hammond family owned several different sections and when they tried to access one or the other the BLM tried denying them access across the adjoining corners. When the BLM kept losing in court they kept getting worse. They eventually charged the Hammonds with "Domestic Terrorism" over lighting a back fire. The BLM's own employee's backed the Hammond's in court and the judge threw the case out. The BLM waited until the judge retired and had the charges refiled. The Hammonds now sit in prison.

Bly, Oregon. In the middle of nowhere. If recall correctly, biggest business there is a bar and gas station. If you’re real independent, maybe the place. Basically - nothing there and hotter than heck in summer.

There's everything there-WILDERNESS with few people. If you want shopping and restaurants, stay in town. Weather-typical eastern Oregon four seasons. Summertime temperatures average mid to high 90's, winter highs in the 30's. It's typical high desert weather and wilderness-if you want all the amenities of city life this area is probably not for you.....

@weirdshibainu23 сағат бұрын
It's federal and they can make your life miserable. They can bury you in paperwork and attorney fees if they want your property or impose usage guidelines. They have very broad regulatory powers, write 99% of their own administrative law and because they "manage natural resources" are all but ignored by Congress. Look up Jarbidge NV for interesting reading.
