John Deere 2032R attacks 2 large stumps in under 15 minutes with the Cold Roll Industrial CRI Stump Bucket. Really happy with how this thing is performing.

Lol... why that's too easy... I've actually done very little stump digging with the backhoe.

I know I shouldn't, but I use the pallet forks on my 4600. Mostly for junk fast growing trees.

yeh, i wouldn't try on anything big. I bent my forks lifting logs and it made them pretty worthless until i was able to force the bent one back in line with the other. hard to pick up a pallet when they are bent. haha

I really like the stump bucket design and size. Appears to be longer than most of the others I have seen. The price looks just right!

Good morning Andrew, Happy Fathers Day! Nothing due to inventory shortages or just too remote? Cold Roll Industrial is based out of IOWA and ships to business locations or Fastenal locations for free... that said have no idea about Canada but may be worth checking... www.coldrollindustrial.com

Ryan I was torn on getting one, but I think for the habitat work it will get used and abused. I don't suspect I'll have too many stumps to dig but I could be wrong... Now that I think about it I have 4-5 large trees behind the house that need to be taken down, so you never know. Thousands of autumn olive on the Habitat Oasis Project so no doubt it was a good investment. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I traded my 2014 JD 2032R for a 2021 JD 2038R in April. My CRI sump bucket came last week. I had dug out 6 ash stumps about 6-10 inches last year with regular bucket, big hole, I took out an 8 inch stump this week much quicker and smaller hole. I have 5or6 to remove this year.

I've been very happy with my CRI bucket... The 2038R should definitely give you a boost in productivity over the Gen 1 2032R

I think you should have done a comparison between digging one out with a shovel and using the stump bucket. I'm sure your brother would have been happy to run the shovel! ;)

Love the way you think! We need you on our content team! Jason, next week we deliver on this! Haha. Funny thing is I did have a third stump that I pulled with the backhoe…. It took longer to put the down riggers down than I took to pop this little rotten stump. May make the blooper reel.

Try digging around the the stump to get the roots loosened up before you attack the stump proper. We dig out trees with dozers that way. Great video. SLS1371

That lesson did come with the second stump. Huge learning to stop trying to ram and dig out right at the stump. Thanks for watching and commenting for connecting the dots on the GTT posts! Much appreciated!

Great video! The learning curve is there, but you got a lot better with just two stumps! I am awaiting delivery of a JD 2038R and might consider one of these. After you have used it a while, I would be interested to know what you think of its strain on the tractor, particularly the loader frame. I know i's a tractor and shouldn't be babied, but this is a lot of "raw" pressure on the hydraulics and loader system. Saying that just as a thought and not as a criticism. That looks like a lot of fun to me! Thanks for the video.

Arepa, yeh funny how quickly you realize that all the leverage in the middle of the stump is nothing until you bust up the roots. I think the front end loader pressure is definitely a concern... probably with time I'll also get better at entering the ground at a less steep angle to bust up those roots on the side. Hopefully you'll never get an alert in your feed about how I broke my FEL using a stump bucket. :-( I was told not to use it on the 4052R as it was not rated for the pressure, so my hope is the grade of steel would bend or break before damaging the FEL but I'm sure there is a way to do great damage. Fingers crossed! Congrats on the 2038R purchase I know you will love it! Be sure to check those front trunnion bolts and mark them with a paint marker... Just saw a post in Green Tractor Talk on my video about this and new buyer had these bolts fall out after 4 hours... so the problem has not been completely resolved. Thanks for watching and commenting!

IMHO: looks like a great tool "if you don't have a backhoe". 😁 I'd imagine you'd tear up a lot less ground (tire ruts etc) using the backhoe from one or two angles with the tractor stationary and you'd be able to see what you were doing a lot better. That said: If I didn't have "a lot" to dig, I'd buy one of those for $800 a whole lot quicker than spending $8k on a backhoe. I can fill in a lot of ruts for $7200 lol Thanks for the vids!

Lol… crazy thing is I haven’t dug a stump with the backhoe. Well I did after these two but it hardly qualified as a stump. Main reason was popping autumn olive out which would be a huge pain to move the backhoe around. Definitely agree on $825 vs $8k. Haha.
