160+ Miles In Hoka Clifton Edge - Shoe Review

Hey runners! Here is my review of the Hoka One One Clifton Edge after 160 miles. I have really enjoyed this shoe out on the roads with it's TPU yarn upper and larger than life foam midsole. While the rubberized EVA outsole has taken a beating, I think the shoe is holding up great and will got 250+ miles (I'll let you know if otherwise!). Other than that if you want to know my opinion on the vertical heel tab and the extended heel just stick around and enjoy the video!

Great video; I can't agree more with your review! Funny enough, I was at one of the Fleet Feet's in Chicago and I was about to walk out with the Rincons, but the specialist that was helping me out told me to try out the Edges and I'm glad I did! Aside from the fit and performance, I am a big fan of how they look and actually purchased another pair in a different colorway to wear as a fashion sneaker. I've been subscribed to your channel for a bit and I'm always excited to see your videos on my feed! Keep up the great work Kyle!

Kyle I bought a pair of the Clifton Edge..I must tell you I live in Michigan and we have been bombarded with snow lately and I don't let winter stop me from running. So like I said I went out and tried my brand new pair of the Edge in the snow and it was like I was on ice skates and I pulled my calf muscle at the 4.6 mile mark. I will say this I should have looked at the sole and saw there would be no grip but I just so bad wanted to run in them. I am healing since Saturday the 13th of February. However like you said when I was in a clearing of no snow the shoe was awesome, I love it. I am not running in anymore until the snow is gone and I will try to find something in my collection with more traction as right now I have the Brooks Adrenaline, Avaya 4 and the Clifton Edge. I may go get something like a trail shoe, I don't know but it is killing me not able to run for a while but I so excited to go out in this shoe again, your review made me go out and get it and like I said when I was in a clear path it was awesome again.

I’m sorry to hear about your calf Eddie! I can relate, I got the endorphin pro’s back in January and have recently had some IT Band issues keeping me from really running. Be careful in the snow man! I hope things clear up for ya and you get out there and crush some miles in the edges soon!

Ahoy! I can't really remember (got it about a year ago) but inside it says its Mens Essential Jacket. I did a quick search just now and looks like Nike running does an "essential jacket" for each season. So I think it's like late 2018 / early 2019 Nike Running Essential Jacket. Hope that helps!

try them on first. I think they would be good but have a bit of a high arch feel to them. so try them out first, if they are good for the first 10 minutes I bet you will be good with them for walk/work for like a year or two honestly.

Can't really say, haven't ran in Clifton, but Clifton is more popular so I'd say try them both at a local shop (or order both online) and jog a mile in each. I bet you will know what is best for you from there!

if you are doing mainly road running i'd say go bondi, I think the heel is probably more comfortable.

I would if it's a good fit, it's snug in the arch and heel. I still wear it for work sometimes. the hat is made by CIELE, check them out homie... dope hats.

Would these shoes help with shin splints? 🤔

that's going to be pretty dependent on the runner I think. Shin splints (from what I know) can be caused by a number of things. the way you run your arch height and strength of neighboring muscles. shoes for sure play a role, but if it's an issue for you I would recommend become completely brand neutral in your mind and then go to a shoe store and get fitted. ignore all logos haha. just get the right shoe for you. that being said, they haven't given be shin splints (I have never run in a shoe that has). hope that helps Jesus!

Sorry to hear about your shin splints. I suffered from it too a few weeks into running. For me, it was my running form that caused it. Probably consider looking into your running form. Hope you're still running strong and happy.

haven't ran in NB 1080v10 but i have only heard great things so honestly probs NB 1080v10. but also to each their own.
