Hey, you two are heroes for being so transparent about your journey. I love how willing you are to learn and then share that knowledge with the rest of us. I know there are folks out there who are thankful you had the courage to mention your troubles and how you solve your problems. Your solutions will no doubt become other peoples solutions as well. Thank you again for a great video.

Thank you for such encouraging words. They mean so much to us. If our journey can help someone else not make the same mistakes or shortcut a solution, we want to pay it forward!! Thank you for reminding us of this!!! We are so grateful!! ❤️❤️❤️

You guys crack me up. Love your channel. One thing I’ve noticed is that boats seem to get hit by lightning more docked or at anchor. I can’t remember anybody that ever got hit sailing. Maybe it’s because we don’t sail in bad weather or maybe something else.

Thank you so much for watching and commenting!! We are grateful we can make you laugh! Yes! You are right that I don’t hear of boats getting struck while in motion. Maybe that’s a way to avoid getting hit!? Ha ha.

Wow....that was fun! I watched the whole thing. What a bummer on the lightning strike. I guess there's no surge protector for a boat equivalent? But how lucky to have found the folks at Seacoast Marine. Love the new instrument panel.....and new panel covers! Nice to have the upgrades when possible....especially after a lightning strike. What a nice friend to teach things like changing the oil and the fuel filter. The ideal plane attachment on the motor is a nice upgrade too....probably doesn't hit the wallet as hard too. Great news on having part of the lightning repairs covered under that first year warranty. Fun video Brown and Eileen!

Love the new hydro foil for your dingy motor..,I think all engines should have them .and glad your instruments was under warranty for replacement even though the electrician cost was high...and as usual we always look forward to your weekly vlog and sharing what you've experienced, fair winds and happy place's.

YES!! The hydrofoil works incredibly well to get the dinghy to plane. We love it. It was amazing that the Raymarine unit (what we replaced with the NEMA 2000) was under warranty...not the other instruments. It was an $$$ fix, but we got it done and were so thankful for that! Thanks for your support!!

Nice video! You should do an in depth video on troubleshooting and configuring NEMA 2000 networks. No, I'm serious, this is a big recurring pain in the nav station.

Thanks, Bill!! Ha - we need someone else to do the NEMA 2000 vid! :) We still have a long way to go on understanding it!!

Did the device you installed help the boat plane better?

Do you have a before and after video of installing the hydrofoil to show the performance difference? Thanks for vids.
@SailingBlownAway
@SailingBlownAway 2 жыл бұрын
That would have been a great video. And I am sorry we didn’t think about it. I tried to find video on you tube to add to our video but there isn’t any! We missed.an opportunity to help others see the difference when it easily gets to plane with the hydrofoil.

I añways had this question in my mind, how do you protect yourself from lighting strike at sea? , posible way to prevent it?
@SailingBlownAway
@SailingBlownAway 2 жыл бұрын
That's a great question and one sailors are always trying to answer. If there was a solution, the insurance company would mandate it as it's one of the biggest expenses. There are "myths" but really, from all of our research and talking to people who know weather, there is no science to it. The best thing to do is drop anchor next to a taller mast! HA!
