Grain effect kinda overrated so nothing to do there really, but for the halation there's a few ways to do the same effect. My favorite way is to make another CST to linear, then two parallel nodes (with the composite mode to add), then another CST back to your original colorspace. On the bottom node of your parallel you will go to the tone curve and put a dot that brings the whole curve down except the very right side. play around a bit and you got the same effect.

@MICAHMAN Honestly DaVinci Resolve Studio is good enough to the point where I actually just straight up bought it legit to support the developers/company, they deserve it. And believe me, this is coming from someone who ain't no landlubber 😂

Dude, I've been struggling with the film grain effect because I always placed it last. This method makes a HUGE difference. Thx ✌️

For anyone wondering camera specific. A Canon M50 Mark ii with the cinestyle setting this works pretty damn well. No need for the vignette at the end, but overall this gives a solid 16mm look.

Use film grain in fusion panel and halation using a compound node that uses linear colour space. There are many tutorials that show how to get halation for free 👍👍

Depends on what color space you're working in. If you're working in Davinci YRGBcolor managed it basically does that CST automatically for you, but if you're working in normal YRGB you have to manually do it. A common work flow is to put a CST from your footage to whatever you want to work in at the beginning of your tree. Then another CST from that CS to Rec.709 at the end of your tree
