I appreciate your taking the time to educate us about the “silent killer,” and I was surprised by the fact that alcohol was a contributing factor in the elevation of bp. I understand that alcohol is the underlying culprit of many health issues, but this one totally escaped my mind.

Hello. I changed my diet. I have gone plant based vegan and removed salt, oil and sugar (SOS) No animal products with intentionally consuming plants. I'm off my bp meds now, guided by my doctor.

Stoped using caned vegetables becouse of salt. Went to Frozen vegetables.
@imjamming2 күн бұрын
There is added salt in frozen vegetables too. If your goal is to limit salt in your diet, fresh vegetables are your best bet. Some people gravitate towards frozen vegetables because they last longer. However, it is possible to extend the life span of fresh vegetables and fruits by storing them properly using reusable produce bags.
@TOSStarTrek2 күн бұрын
@@imjamming Look at one can of vegetables then Frozen vegetables. I think you will find out there almost X10 in caned vegetables. Fresh are better but if you are any kind of limited budget Frozen vegetables are your best pick.

Thanks for the video! I have been trying to manage my blood pressure and cholesterol while on medication. I would say honestly the biggest help for me was changing my diet up. I use to eat alot of processed and fast food. but once I started to eat more natural food or food that has little to no processing I definitely saw a huge change and for the most part my numbers stay in the range of 120's / 80's it does go up and down though but I think my average now is 123/82 which is alot better than the 145/95 it was. Now my diet isn't perfect but I try to eat atleast 4-5 days a week eating natural foods like baked chicken, or fish, vegetables and potatoes, I use salt free seasoning and only add a little salt for taste. So I do still have a couple of days of eating bad, but overall my numbers are better. I definitely would say cutting out processed and fast food will help you out. So really check your labels. honestly about 75% of everything in the grocery store is processed

Hello Dr, I’m a senior that experienced Arthritis occasionally and use ibuprofen to relieve my pain. Motrin is commonly used once a week when I do feel discomfort, what advice you can share with me to avoid using this product? Sometimes I used an Arthritis cream that helped in the pain for a short time. Please advise,Ty.

Corticosteroids and Effexor ? I'm surprised.

If I get too cold or warm or sit directly under a fan, my nose stops up. So I ALWAYS have a decongestant on me. And use it at least twice a day. I even asked my doctor if it was safe, even though he's tried every medication known to man to stabilize my BP. Id read that it may be a problem. He said it wasn't a problem, but it was addictive so try to use it less. Lord...ok so any suggestions for dealing with the congestion?
Many of my patients are also shocked when I explain how NSAIDs like ibuprofen can affect kidney function and blood pressure. Be careful with those over-the-counter meds - sometimes what seems safe needs a closer look! Remember to always consult with your doctor. 🩺
