$1700 Saab 9-3 2.0L OBX 3" Downpipe Install

Nice video! I am doing a very similar build on my 2008 9-3. 6 speed, front mount IC, 3" charge pipes all around, same header, similar turbo, Go fast bits BOV & wastegate, bigger Bosch injectors, fuel pump and regular...a couple other goodies. So what are you planning on doing for the tune? Have someone do it or use Tsuite?

Sick! Gunna do T8 to max its limitations with the tuner Mackanized. Been chatting with him need some MAF and map changes - if that doesn’t hit 500hp I’ll do a standalone

@thejsgarage this is the same guy I plan on using. From everything I've seen on the trionic form he really knows these cars like the back of his hand! Did he mention anything about needing a wide band O2 and a 2 or 3 bar map?

Couple questions from another 2.0 owner: !) at 4:53 mine sometimes splits apart but I can just push it together again. Might this cause issues, even if I have an auto? I have not had issues when I brake but the car has had a chronic reoccuring misfire even after resolving it multiple times 2) 6:08 shows secondary air system - my 06 just has a hole there. I'm assuming it's fine as it is without the pipes? Love the content and can't wait to see more, super helpful for my build!!

The misfire is most likely your coil if it happens until throttle or boost. I need to double check if the auto has this same brake booster vacuum line but I believe it does. Regarding the SAI, yes it has a hole so they could use that air box on both SAI and non SAI models.

I randomly found this one on Walmart.com of all places through a google search for ‘saab 9-3 OBX downpipe’ lol idk how/why it was on there but it was the last one in stock. Got it for like $165 for something insane but couldn’t ship to CA

It should yes! if you have an XWD I’m not positive about the downpipe payment though because the transfer case is slightly different maybe

you not using defoulers to get those sensors out of the exhaust stream, why would you restricting flow 🙄 the very thing you are trying to prevent by installing the downpipe in the first place

You think an 02 sensor is the bottleneck? This downpipe eliminates the restrictive cat and is 3” all the way out.. not sure on your logic here

HEY YOU!!! What are you doing bending your own $1500 500hp build rule? Shame on you. :) ofc there will be no problems getting to 500hp with unlimited budget, but sure takes the fun out of it, because now everyone can do it - it's not unique anymore.
