I never realised you were a fellow ohioan, if I did have a ng 9-3 and not an og 9-5 I'd watch your guides more often. You always seem to do a good job at actually showing the steps and explaining things. (unlike some people) I will say, genuine saab exhaust parts, at least the ones that I have gotten for my 9-5, are nothing like mass produced parts. They're made to order and are the most beautiful welds I've ever seen, I have the downpipe and exhaust manifold for the b235r 9-5. The downpipe has been on the car for over 8 years and is still in amazing condition.

Upper sensor is o2 Lower sensor is catalytic convertor sensor, Good to see the sensor extender fitted, Had to do mine as it put the management light on, luckily tech 2 identified the problem. Original downpipes keep the sensor bulb out of the hot gas flow, Aftermarket downpipes put the sensor bulb directly in the gas flow, Which reports it as a car fault. Just in case any viewers needed to know.
@prodzektownia11 ай бұрын
Second o2 sensor is for diagnostic cat condition, check engine light will come out when cat is damaged/dead/removed, so when you install aftermarket catless downpipe second o2 sensor detect that cat is not working and throw a check engine, when you put that elbow spacer thing it moves sensor away from gas stream and limit amount of gases that go to o2 sensor to trick him, he does not have enough fumes to detect cat malfunction. It has nothing to to with temp of exhaust gases

Following the WIS and unbolting the left engine mount didn’t help one but in lowering the engine. They also specify removing the heat shields from the manifold and the brake master. Next step for me is to follow the WIS on replacing the torsion bar bushings, which involves lowering the subframe. That should provide plenty of room. I have an 07 Aero.
@nelagordon243 ай бұрын
That DP and MP are a work of art 😍😍 so how much power are you making with all the boltons and the big turbo upgrade? Im guessing close to or a little over 400HP, no? Or somewhere around 20K duck power 😂😂

I was wondering if you can make a video about cleaning a used ignition switch I'm going to get one that lights up when an 03 comes available at the junkyard, great job filming and showing up close and explaining the process.

Good suggestion Phillip! I've been meaning to do an ISM cleaning video. I just picked up a few ISM's including an 03 but I may keep that one as a spare. Either way I plan to make a cleaning video so stay tuned!

@@WeakestofWeeks Thank you and I don't blame you for keeping a spare I can get one (maybe) in Indianapolis but its over an hour and might not be there. I'll just wait for Dayton to have one. I'm not in a hurry. Anyway keep up the good work and I appreciate all you do.

I'm about to replace the flex pipe and the passenger side intermediate shaft and CV axle on my 2006 9-3 2.0T Cabrio. I'm curious about the impact wrench you use. I'm going to buy a ! Milwaukee impact wrench as I have tons of Milwaukee M18 tools. I don't know if I should go with a medium torque 600 ft/pound reverse 450 ft/pound impact or would a 250 ft/pound tool work as well? My big concern is removing the axle hub nut and other suspension nuts and bolts. I'd like to spend the least I have to, but I don't want to invest the $ in a tool that won't meet my needs. Any input you have would be appreciated.

FYI the car has 97k miles and is from Pennsylvania. I'm originally from upstate NY and the amount of corrosion and rust on this car is nothing like the issues with a car that saw tons of road salt like I saw on my previous vehicles in NY.
@WeakestofWeeks2 жыл бұрын
My Ryobi impact is 300ft lbs and it's a champ! You might be able to get away with buying the cheaper impact but first use a breaker bar and brute force to break the axle nut loose.
@jscotlandr2 жыл бұрын
@@WeakestofWeeks I couldn't remember which of your videos I was watching when I asked the impact wrench question. I have a very nice 24" breaker bar that I bought to remove the axle nut on my '95 900SE Cabrio. I'm going to have both hips replaced in a few months. Right now my flexibility and range of motion are really limited. Because of that I won't be able to do a lot of moving around under the car to get in a position to put a lot of power into my sockets and breaker bars. If you're doing that kind of work with a 300ft/lb impact wrench I'm going to go with the mid-torque Milwaukee M18. It's also a lot smaller than the high torgue model. Thanks for your advice and input.

Did you just roast my company? 😂😂😂😂 “massed produced Genuine Saab product” I mean yes we took a car and made a jig to build off of but at least our welds look better and our tapper down to 2.5 inch looks better too. Adam is the best welder and we also make pipes to order. (Yes, I work for Taliaferro Imports. My name is Thomas and I do front desk, parts, and shipping. We are a very small company. I’ve even got some mechanic work too. I own a 2004 Saab 9-3 Aero so that helps too.) Good video though!
@WeakestofWeeks2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that comment I made in the video was definitely a bit dramatic haha. The point wasn't to bash Genuine Saab but to let folks know other options are available. In my opinion, competition is good. It challenges companies to push the boundaries and to create new and exciting products. At the end of the day, I personally feel very fortunate (and I'm sure nearly all of my viewers would agree) that companies like GS continue to provide amazing support for a car company that's been long gone. I've used many of your companies products throughout the years and will continue to do so. With that being said, I'm also glad to see other individuals taking the plunge to support the Saab community too. It's amazing that it's been over a decade since Saab went bankrupt yet we have such a strong supporting community!

@@WeakestofWeeks I 100% agree! I was just messing with y’a! 😂😂 Love your videos by the way. Keep up the good work! Saab also holds a very special place in my heart and I will always support everyone who helps them stay on the roads.

@@8SecSleeper Do you think I get free items? I’m not saying we have the best products but we do have some pretty good ones. We are too small to give out free parts like that 😂😂😂 Also, I don’t even have our downpipe installed on my car yet. I’m commenting based of off reviews and phone calls I’ve had with people at work.

Dude..... its better to wrap the downpipe with "heatband".... keeps the heat out of the engineroom
@WeakestofWeeks2 жыл бұрын
Is headband another term or brand of heat wrap? I try to avoid that since it absorbs moisture and living in an area that dumps chemicals all over the road in the winter I prefer not to use that wrap. I don't have any conclusive evidence but I believe ceramic coating is more efficient. At a minimum it looks much better and is more durable over heat wrap. Im also still using the factory heat shield, so I shouldn't have anymore cooked coolant over flow tanks.
