One thing I enjoy about this song is that it can apply to anyone who serves or has served in the US military, not just 1 unit in one specific war, as they proved here. I salute all those in uniform no matter what service or when they served.

It had to be satisfying for the Vietnam vets to get that kind of applause, which they didn't receive when they came home. I salute all those who served in the past and serve today. Thank you for all that you've done.

I agree. I was born when the Vietnam was was ending. My father a Vietnam veteran and the VFW post he is a part of held a welcome home event within the last 8 years. I am glad that there has been to attempt to right the wrong.

Super tribute. Brought tears to my eyes. Never saw that video before,,,,joe,,, 173rd Airborne Infantry, Vietnam combat vet. I'm an old man now but it's still hard to forget. My only son is in the Army now, on his way to Afghanistan. A new generation picks up the torch for freedom and they are no less courageous than we were, and maybe more so. How many tears will I have to shed for my country if he gets hurt? I run out of them fast at that black wall and after I see my son on leave. God bless.

Thank you Ifarley, and God bless you and your husband. Can't imagine what Haiti is like right now but I'd guess not pleasant. I wouldn't think our troops would be there much longer so I hope you see him soon. The deployments are so much longer nowadays and that has got to be difficult on everyone, Again, God bless you all and may he keep our soldiers safe. ,,,joe

My only son served with the 173rd in Afghanistan. Your son is a rare breed, and greatly loved. I will pray for your son, as I do my own. An Angel behind, an Angel in front, and Angels on all sides. Amen. God bless you. We will never forget your service. If it weren't for men and women like you, and the great sacrifices you have borne, we would not sleep safely in our beds at night. Thank you.

I love this tribute. I'm probably a little partial because my son was with the 173rd. I love the part where the Veterans come out. They deserve all honor and recognition for their sacrifices from every American. Kris Christofferson did this right at least!!
