I like this multiple view discussion of Scripture, it's like reading three different commentaries on a passage. It brings the mysterious aspect of the Gospels, especially the synoptics, out much better than taking in a single point of view. I especially agree with the idea that Jesus could speak to the present and the future at the same time. I think the entire "process" of the production of Scripture is far more complex than someone writing a text, the speaking of the word followed by the memory of what was told and the memory of how that was passed on and read and heard on our end all comes into it and there's no reason all of it isn't valid or "inspired."

For the vast majority of people across history who have lived under oppressive governments and suffered with inequitable material conditions, the return of Jesus the Messiah and establishment of true peace and justice is a good thing. ...joy comes in the morning.

Yes, such an important point that I don't think we got to. Thank you!

This text is a reminder that no new social or political structures will bring in a perfect setting. Rejected are people’s dreams of creating their own utopias here on earth. Equally unacceptable is every type of expectation that a millennium will precede Jesus’ sure yet sudden return. Panic (the pastime of despair) we do not need. Vigilance, however, is a necessary commodity in these gray and latter days.

Thank you for this insightful podcast. My spouse attended Candler school of theology in the late 90s, I loved reading her notes, listening to her tapes, and on occasion, sat in some classes. I had missed this time so much until I found your podcast. Actually, it was the podcast with Dean Willis that introduced me to the podcast. These podcasts are wonderful, I have gained so much from each one.

Richard, we love hearing that the podcast has provided a new way to learn and engage with the Gospel, and how amazing that you previously had that opportunity to do the same during your wife’s studies.

Thank you all and it makes me think that 2,024 years in our times are nothing in God's time so perhaps yes we are awaiting the Second Coming but it will happen much later on?!? God bless.
