18 Years Forgotten, Now It’s Back!

If you have followed along on this car, you know it was a bit touch and go for a while. But, we were super surprised, and relieved, that all the potentially major issues were fairly easily fixed.
Now we take "Dairy Barn", the 1968 427 L89 Corvette on its first drive in potentially18 years.

Love the videos, car too!!! Seeing videos like these, keeps me focusing on getting mine going, I bought a 69 vette sportwagon, 425hp 427,4spd, sidepipes, 850 holley carb, even has a backseat. Sat at a Plymouth dealership, without tops on it for 20years outside, north of Memphis tenn, I've had it for not quite a year, learned it made it on a youtube channel, guy video it, when I was loading it on my trailer, Also later on, I came across a guys post on Facebook, that took pics of it, 10years prior sitting at that dealership, this guy was on vacation from Finland I think he said, So its youtube famous and world known, 😆 Its definitely a problem child, do one thing, get set back ten other things on it, Good luck with that one, keep the videos coming on it!

Nice Vette. I just sold my 69 Vette and only had 80,000 original miles on it. I bought it in 1972 with 68,000 miles on it. Didn’t drive it much. Do you know the history on your car? Did the stripes come on it from the factory and does it have the Muncie-22 4 speed? One more thing have fun putting fuses in the car!! Half your body is on the seat and the other half in the floorboard!! Lol

Hey! Wow, that’s awesome and I hope it went to a good home. This car didn’t come with stripes (it was painted like a Baldwin Motion car), and was originally thought to be black based on what the wife of the previous owner said, but it was in fact maroon. The car has a factory m-22, yep! We have most of the story on the car, but a lot of it, unfortunately, went when the last owner passed. I do plan to put together a comprehensive story of what we do know on the car.

The car came with a set of corvette rallies that are going to go back on with new tires. The clutch actually feels good, no slipping or any noises from the throw out bearing or anything. It’s pretty shocking honestly. I still need to dial the timing and carbs in so we can really see what it can do, but other than that… it’s a good driver. Well, as good as no power steering, manual disc brakes, and a shifter that needs to loosen up a bit (it was rusted solid).

Yep and the L89s had nothing power except a radio; essentially it’s a factory race car with a radio.
