Wow! those piers were really built. No wonder they didn't try to remove them in 1906. Any idea what the big red vibratory hammer sitting on the barge was used for?

I assume they used it for something, but they did not use it while I was there, and there were no new piles in the river near the shore where I was.

I was going to remark that the bridge behind the piers looked 100 years old, then I read your brief and found out it was 118 years old. 😂 Has anyone tried to get some of the blocks and cut them up into nice slabs and have the tombstone people cut all the data into it so people could have a display for their backyard ? 🤔 💲💲
