"Is this an actual poem?" Yep, it's by Emily Dickinson. The Brain-is wider than the Sky- For-put them side by side- The one the other will contain With ease-and You-beside- The Brain is deeper than the sea- For-hold them-Blue to Blue- The one the other will absorb- As Sponges-Buckets-do- The Brain is just the weight of God- For-Heft them-Pound for Pound- And they will differ-if they do- As Syllable from Sound-

Yaaaaaaay you’re the first I’ve seen do this show and I’m so excited! I asked for the day off work to binge it, so I finished the entire season yesterday. I have a lot of thoughts and am curious to see where your mind goes with it. So far you’ve had similar thoughts and questions to what I did. LMAO both 1899 and Dark are definitely confusing. I loved it when you started singing the whisper song from Dark. 😂 And you mentioned that you recognized the captain-did you actually know where you’ve seen him or did he just seem familiar to you? Without spoiling anything, I will say that this show seemed to move more slowly than Dark, but it always kept me interested. And I also know that 3 seasons are already planned out, just like Dark was, so the first season is just the beginning of the full story. It’s a wild ride for sure. Thank you for getting your reaction up so quickly and I can’t wait for more!!

Dark to me is in another galaxy as far as being unique, intriguing, complex...and more. I've watched it three times and I had a huge chart and time jumps written down and pics of the different actors for the different time jumps and I still understood maybe 70% of it. Season 2 really I could follow not a problem. Then season three added a whole new level and I think at the midway of season 3 I thought it got to crazy and complex and they left too much just out there. Like wow. I have a hunch this is gonna be the same. Highly suggest not to miss one second. This and Dark were not made for any breaks. Like you can't go to the kitchen and grab a soda cause you will miss so much and so much down the line will be crazy to understand.

I'm watching one episode a day just so i can ponder cause my brain is already hurting in a good way and I'm only on ep 2 lol. I don' know if it's cause I had DARK on my mind, but I'm questioning everything from the credits song to set design to sound choices. Great reaction.

Seen all episodes and you are in for a ride. One thing the captain is the actor who plays the stranger, older Jonas in Dark. Krester the kid yelling for help is another Netflix apocalyptic show called the rain.

I only started watching this because I've seen other reactors watching it (and I've only watched this episode so far). It was pretty good! It reminds me a little bit of Lost, if you ever watched that. Lots of spooky mystery and all the characters have their own secrets that (hopefully) get slowly revealed. That was a show that fed on the weekly airing format and there was constant speculation on the secrets every week. I agree that that format worked better for this kind of story than the binge format that Netflix tends to. I don't usually have time to watch more than two episodes at a time, so I enjoy the slow release of episodes and people being able to discuss and speculate without being spoiled.

Have you not seen Dark? I presume as much only because you said you watched it because you saw people reacting to it. Most of the people reacting to it are doing so because of Dark, because the couple who created the former are also responsible for 1899. And I am unanimous in saying this, and I believe most everyone who has seen Dark will agree, Dark is an absolute masterpiece, a cinematic achievement, arguably the greatest series ever.

@@FLQueerLiberal1982 I have not seen Dark, although I think I will put it on my list next as I've heard such good things about it and I'm now done with 1899. Thanks!

Loving the show so far. Think I've watched 3eps. I watched Dark and so have been waiting for this one but don't know any more than you going in to it. I have a theory or two but I'll wait until later episodes to mention them. I agree... we need new rockstars to do breakdowns!

I've watched the first four episodes. My thoughts? Pretty damn eerie, weird and baffling. It's pretty entertaining so far. That being said though... I don't think 1899 is on Dark's level. Not yet. But man, so many cliffhangers. Like a tsunami of cliffhangers... 😮😯😲 Oh.... Maura's cabin room number is the same as in her dream/flashback at the asylum... Just sayin... 😉
