Great video. I hope the Technician who does my recall knows some of the finer points that you mention such as lubrication. I would suggest one extra step though. Before putting the O-ring on, vacuum the debris off the top of the tank and clean the seat. I saw some stuff fall into the tank at 14:19 minutes. Very good otherwise!

Glad the video helped my friend! The CRV is a great car, they really don’t have many problems. if you need help with anything else, I do have playlist with numerous videos pertaining to CRV’s. Also, good thing you had that fuel pump recall! The fuel pump itself can be a little pricey at times.

@@lionintu I've heard about them, they're on older models from before I got there, I think it's got something to do with the pump module itself, which isn't even a part my plant makes. I'm not high up in the quality department so I'm not too well informed on the issue.

Well, these were done under a recall for safety. The majority of them didn’t have any symptoms at all, they just needed to be replaced. However, that being said some of the most common symptoms of a bad fuel pump can be a very long crank before the vehicle turns over, sometimes the vehicle won’t turn over at all, on occasion you will have some DTC‘s related to fuel pressure

Do you have the correct part number for the replacement fuel pump for 2018 Honda CR-V LX? I looked up the part number which your video shows, 06170-TLA-306, and it was for a fuel pump kit of some sort. There is a recall of fuel pumps for this model...I need the updated fuel pump part number...thanx! Good video on the pump replacement.

The part number I provided is what is swapped out. It’s the fuel pump itself, a couple of O-rings, and two electrical connectors. Also has the large gasket and the new locking cap

How long does it take to do the job ? I went to my dealership for the fuel pump exchange recall and the job was done in 45 min, I googled it and it says the job usually takes 2-3 hrs.

So the Honda CRV is the easiest fuel pump to do, because there really is nothing in the way! And remember the dealership technicians do them all day long so they have a lot of practice with them. This job can absolutely be done in 45 minutes

Well thank you for that, a little calming 😅. I was confuse initially bc the service rep said it was going to be 2-3 hrs and in 45 min I got a call saying it was done. Idk it hard trusting dealership nowadays

@@TheRealLefGem I totally understand. I will tell you though, if the service advisor says 2 to 3 hours, it could be for one of two reasons. Either the technician that’s going to work on your car has something else that they’re doing first. Or they want to underpromise and overdeliver so that you have a better experience.

Had the recall done on my 2019 crv now I’m experiencing long crank times, do you think they might have pinched the gasket?

More than likely just the battery may be going out, if there were a pinched gasket you would have some emissions warnings appear on your multimedia display

@ I just replaced the battery last month. To rule that out I’m getting no warning light on the dashboard. Did you lube the gasket before you tighten it down? Thank you for the reply.

@@maxsmoviechannelupdate it was the check valve in the pump, it wasn’t closing when the vehicle was off. so the fuel psi would drop from 62psi to 0 psi when the car was not running .

great video and detail on the replacement! there is an active recall on 2019 cr-v and other honda models for fuel pump module failure (i have a 2019) honda specifically says the "impeller" was improperly molded and will deform. will replacing the module remedy this problem? TIA!!

Good question, this replacement should take care of all of the problems that you could potentially experience. However, be aware that there is in fact, another recall coming soon, I think it just affects the hybrid CRV’s, 2025 Civics and Hybrid Civics. But it’s the high-pressure fuel pump. Which is a seperate part entirely
