You are one impressive young lady! When my daughter visited me in Maui I thought she was moving in with us. For one week she packed four suitcases and two carry bags. She brought 12 pairs of heels along with outfits to match each pair of shoes. In the week she was there she wore three tees, three pairs of shorts and a pair of sandals. She never touched any of the other articles of clothing and she had a great time. I watched your 100th video about how your family got started traveling and your father told an incredible story. Life is so short and having all of the material things doesn't necessarily mean a happy life. I realized that years ago after enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. As I traveled around the world during 16 of my 23 years I found that to really enjoy my life the less baggage I carried the more better it was for me to experience living with the locals, tasting the different cuisines and participating in traditions; e.g. I've learned to speak enough languages to shop, ask directions and properly greet. I became an expert Obon dancer in the Japanese church festivals celebrating their lost loved ones. Circumstances prevent me from doing what you and your family enjoy. Otherwise, I would be on the road myself. In Europe I was the instigator and planner for "road trips" which I love doing. My favorite was one across Turkey from near the Syrian border up to Istanbul and Izmir. We learned so much history and visited incredible sites such as Ephesus, castle ruins, the Blue Mosque, the Sea of Marmara and so on. You and your brothers are very fortunate to have such wonderful parents and it's very obvious their values are yours...please don't change.

The journal is a great idea! My family did road trips starting in the late 50's. We kept journals some of which we still have. I remember one memorable trip in 1964. We did 9,000 miles around the country in 6 weeks, tent camping mostly. It's great to go back and read the journal entries. Such as our first impression seeing the Grand Teton Mountains. Paying 30 cents per gallon for gas. Spending the day at Disneyland for under $25 for a family of 5. I'm looking forward to your future videos with both Jeeps.

My wife, just picked up her 93 YJ, so I can't wait for her and I to get out there and play in the woods together. Having that extra Jeep, tagging along is such a great things, because sometimes we just want to be taking it all in, without dealing with a whole group of people. Great content guys!

Caroline, I would love to have you teach my daughter how to pack for a trip. While living in Maui I wanted her to come and spend a week with us. She arrived at Kahului Airport and as I pulled up to baggage claim she was standing next to a huge pile of luggage. It was good that I drove the 4Runner instead of the Honda Civic. All of that luggage and all she needed was a backpack and her purse; which is what she used the entire week. When I travel I carry a 30 liter backpack and small carry on (EDC) bag.

I recommend buying a pair of Raptor shears by Leatherman for each Jeep. You will have trauma shears, seatbelt cutters, wire cutters, and glass breaker all in a foldable package with a sheath. Maybe the girls would like to chop wood and dig fire pits, maybe they wouldn't. Really that's none of your business. Having everybody do all things for themselves is not an efficient way to run a family road trip. From what I've seen everybody works hard at doing the things they do best and offers the best value for effort. There's no slackers in this troupe. You might like to take a leaf out of their playbook.
