1905 Dentzel Menagerie Carousel Castle Park Riverside California Merry Go Round Ride Antique

The Merry-Go-Round at Castle Park is actually a 1907 Dentzel. It used to be at that the Lagoon Area at Knott's Berry Farm until it was moved by Bud Hurlbut to Castle Park when the Lagoon Area closed down to make way for additional parking in 1984. I used to work at the Lagoon Area in the early 1980's, and used to operate that very same Merry-Go-Round! Quite a memory watching the video--I remember it well. The band organ was functional and was played occasionally on busy weekends.

The Castle Park wiki page claims 1905 as do other pages, but the Dentzel Carousel wiki page shows 1907, so there's some conflicting information. I'm not sure a person could differentiate between the two years as they were handmade rather than a production line.

That Band Organ was very very loud. You could hear it across the Lagoon. Kinda scary as a kid.

This carousel has some many animals like horses, rabbits, cats, deers, tigers, goat, bears, orishtchs, lion, giraffe

There’s like two organs ones a North Tonawanda organ and the artizan band organ
