And their town was flooded by those yt people - you will now find that town directly beneath Lake Lanier. A bridge, bleachers, houses, mailboxes, etc. A WHOLE FREAKING TOWN! People go out living their 'best lives' on that lake, but think of it this way: You are literally partying on top of a town more than likely inhibited by the spirits of the black ppl of Oscarville, GA. I'm sure they aren't pleased at their fate or the lack of respect for their community, hence the insane amount of drownings, disappearances, accidents, etc that occur there yearly. Seems like everyone still is tiptoe-ing over FACTS. Acknowledge the atrocities committed against those ppl, acknowledge their descendants, and put the damn lake to rest. Close it off. Give them back their town.

I’m not trying to be a bitch but you do know that the lake serves a purpose right??? It’s not just a recreational lake. It provides drinking water to more than half the state.
@triannajj13802 жыл бұрын
You’re right about everything else though. But yt people alone are not responsible for flooding the area. The land was bought by the army corps of engineers. For a purpose. They would have taken it by right of imminent domain anyway once they decided to create the lake. The lake wasn’t created until 40 years after the oscarville residents were forced out. The two had nothing to do with the other.

@@mikellove5755 my great grandfather had journals telling the whole truth. He was one of the few white share croppers beside oscarville. The real story is what I just said. I have no reason to cover anything up. It happened no one denies that.
@triannajj1380 Жыл бұрын
@@mikellove5755 c’mon man it was the corp of engineers who flooded it. Forty years AFTER everything happened. The whole area where the lake sits was white communities and black communities. They got a one time offer, less than what it was worth and had to take it. Right if imminent domain deems that it would be a utilities service and provide power to everyone, they do it with roads too.

#Question Can any black descendants from the area chime in? I’ve been informed years ago the lake covered an old native burial ground. With more research I’ve been made aware it was a black town of natives. Wondering if anyone can confirm this info, tribe info or if their families were ever enslaved? Also, there is a MOUND system under the lake that was covered as well. There was some planned effort in covering this town up. Side note : look into the Greenwood district of Tulsa ( black wallstreet) they were all black natives forced to migrate from Greenwood Mississippi under a treaty. They were of the CHATA TRIBE AKA CHOCTAW TRIBE. The more you dig the more you realize many of us were already here , and not all of us were enslaved. Any information you can provide below would be appreciated!

Yes blacks are the aboriginals of America. All of our land was stolen, prominent communities burned down, flooded and massacred, history hidden and we were given the narrative that we were brought here on slave ships from Africa.
