Half of the Waterbury Clock Company building on Cherry Street, Cherry Avenue, and North Elm Street in Waterbury, Connecticut has been converted into apartments, while the rest sits vacant and collapsing. Beautiful old building that probably won’t be around much longer, love driving by and imagining the history that occurred within. I aspire to own a Waterbury hall clock someday!

Yes leaving things the way they are is fine. Unless the way they are were put wrong. Nice ladder chain movement . Gilbert clock company also used th ladder chain movement. Style of works has the weights hanging behind the pendulum . Almost all other set ups have the weights in front of the pendulum. See where you also have a. Strike trip wire hanging down in order to sync your strike count. Very nice clock and video. Thanks!

I've always loved the Grandfather clocks. My grandmother had one and my mother has one but we don't know how to get it running again. Since she's been sick it just sits there. Maybe I should research and figure out how to get it going again. It's a beautiful clock.

Why is it called a hall clock?

At the turn of the 20th century tall case clocks were called Hall Clocks. They were not called Grandfather Clocks by the clock industry. That was a term that became popular with clock buyers after a song came out in the late 1800s called, "My Grandfather's Clock."
