This week Moshe and Natasha are joined by Beth Stelling! They discuss egg freezing, using vinegar-soaked socks to bring down a fever, and Beth’s engagement with trolls in the comments of her TikTok. They give advice to one caller who wants to work on her relationship with her parents and another who’s unsure when to tell partners about her illness. Plus, they try out some jokes written by ChatGPT!
Submit your deepest secrets to the Endless Honeymoon Secrets Hotline: (213) 222-8608 and ask Natasha and Moshe for relationship advice: endlesshoneymoonpod@gmail.com.

I’d only dated my late husband for about 8 months before he was diagnosed with a terminal brain cancer. We were only 22. However- Not only didn’t I skip out on him after diagnosis, but we both graduated college, got married, got our first pet, rented our first “real” home together, and had our daughter within 13 months as a result of said diagnosis! Sort of made several “f*** a diagnosis” declarations in that we BOTH wanted love to be at the helm of our choices, rather than some medical expiry date. That seemed lame and made up. Someone will love this guest caller enough to not only stick around for her, but to also pack as much life into her lifespan as possible, for them both! 😘 Chin up, babe! Love can absolutely find you no matter what.

God, my mother-in-law is just like Moshe's mom, except it was so bad we very nearly divorced--we separated for 4 years! My husband eventually saw the light and figured out the concept of boundaries and we are back together with a stronger marriage than ever. It helps that we have a thriving business too (we used to fight about money and that's also in the past) but being a united front has done wonders. We see my in-laws about once a week, and they no longer show up as if they live with us. No more "pop-inspections" as I used to call them, lol. I try really hard not to dwell on the toll it took on me and my health. Fortunately, our son remembers very little. I worked hard to shield him from the worst of it.

Happy Sweet 16, Mayor Cutie! Re: the first caller - when calling into an advice show, be prepared to give context or don't bother. Was the relationship strained due to the new baby? Was there a safety concern? Are they abusive? That was the longest beating around the bush ever. P.S. Beth is perfect.

Yes!!! Just to get to "how do I manage stress around them?". Perfectly fine question, that didn't require the many minutes of cat and mouse. Think critically, callers, about the problem and what you want. That said, happy sweet 16, sweet Cutie 🥰. So glad you got a serenade from the stellar, Beth Stelling.

@@lifesquixotic i know she wasn't going into a ton of detail, it seemed like a delicate thing for her for that reason, but i've learned how to draw boundaries and protect my peace, time and energy with parents/family in a way that does not require that i sacrifice my own peace of mind, but rather requires me to say thing thing im scared to say/ask the hard questions, and not just have daily amnesia about how some of their behaviors impact me. Instead ive committed to live my life for me and i always keep in mind that their feelings and behaviors are 100% their responsibility and i'd rather be uncomfortable setting a boundary and have full respect for myself, then bend and break my own sense of dignity just to "get along" . its no longer worth it to me. I will say too, my folks and i are on much better terms now, where even though they may not like my boundaries, they have learned to respect them, and therefore respect me more, and it feels amazing, and i love them for that.. but yea, theres no going back on that. I sensed that this caller needed to receive permission from someone somewhere (ultimately her self) to draw the damn line in the sand and know she's still a good person, and yes, she DOES deserve the respect she feels is lacking. we all do!

40:27 the answer to her question “how do I manage my stress levels when I’m with my parents” is to have a mindfulness practice. When she is with her parents she needs the skills and tools to bring her back to the present moment. Sometimes the best advice is 2600 year old advice.

The life limiting caller reminds me of. my best friend who died from cancer at the age of 30. She got into a relationship while going through chemotherapy. She was open with the guy at the beginning. He ended up proposing to her in the summer before she got married liens that her cancer was gone, but then she died two months after her wedding. I am so honest I would have to tell the person at the beginning, but I think it’s wiser to wait to see how serious the relationship is.

So I'm 58 - fast approaching 60. I'm not at all feeling the "This is just how I am!" years.. I feel about 40. Sometimes 12 - is a good way. If you've always been someone who likes to grow, learn, and develop yourself (in all ways), that doesn't stop. Well, at least not until the dementia kicks in.

The entire time I was listening, I kept thinking that if her communication style with her parents is anything like this Q&A, her parents probably have no idea there's even a problem. I think my advice to her would be to work on asserting herself or finding her voice. Unfortunately, the family dynamics that were established in childhood often repeat and you fall right back into those patterns when you're around people who raised you or were raised with you. I've watched my mom turn into a little girl around her sisters because she's the youngest and they always gang up on her or treat her like a child when the family is all together. If you want to see the core of a human, watch how they interact with their family lol

Hi! First when you go to KZbin your Podcast is not in numerical order. Super confusing. And random. What makes me think you will read this one? My concern is Natasha’s pot smoking. At some point child will realize my mom is a pot smoker. She wasn’t present for me and my mundane activities. Also smoking sucks. It’s bad for your lungs and our climate. Ecigs isn’t easier on your lungs. All of my moms and her friends that smoked are dead leaving a lonely husband and her daughters and grandchildren. Like I told someone else. If u go pick up your child from school because she’s not feeling well they will lot let you take her if you are stoned. You appeared so much happier at the beginning of theses podcast (again nothing is in order. Now it appears a chore). After all that, I love you both. I have some crazy experience working with sex offender children, children that parents give up their parental rights, the toughest kids in Mpls that aren’t making it in school, from throwing a grapefruit at a teacher to shooting a gun in the lunchroom and so much more. Then I decided to work on the physh floor at one of our biggest hospitals. Be present with your daughter. Pretty soon she’ll be telling and stealing your pot. Being a mom is boring. Take it. Your #1 job is to be a present Mom. Do the 💩 she wants to do and teach her how to play be herself. No more, my Mom is a pot head. That’s how she raised me.
